April 2017
Thank You, Volunteers!

The week of April 23 is Volunteer Appreciation Week and at Pets In Need, we love our volunteers! From assisting our clients, to unloading  large donations of pet food, to cleaning  up little (or big) pet messes, helping with events , and everything in between, we rely on them every day to keep the clinic operating and running smoothly.

And while we think every week should be volunteer appreciation week, we would like to give each and every one of our volunteers  a big THANK YOU for all they do!

Dr. Jack's Healthy Pet Gazette:  Pet Heartworm Awareness
Every month, Pets In Need veterinarian and board member Dr. Jack Walkenhorst shares his tips and expertise in Dr. Jack's Healthy Pet GazetteApril is Pet Heartworm Awareness month, so Dr. Jack discusses heartworm symptoms, testing and prevention.

Happy Anniversary, PIN!

It seems like only yesterday that the clinic opened - but on April 15th it will have been
FOUR years.

The clinic now serve pets from more than 1,800 local low-income families.  In 2016 we provided:
  • 5,222 vet exams
  • 4,995 vaccines
  • 736 spay/neuter
  • 18,505 doses of flea/tick medication
  • 10,027 doses of heartworm medication
We are so thankful for our caring community of donors, grantors and volunteers
without whose generosity and support we couldn't have come this far.

Thank you all for believing in what we do and for helping to keep
pets healthy and together with the people who love them.
Pets In Need Scores Big in Brackets For Good
With your help, we raised more than $24,000 and made it all the way to the Championship round in the Brackets for Good fundraising tournament! Even though we didn't win the final round, the much-needed funds raised will make a big difference in helping to keep more pets healthy and together with the families who love them.

Congratulations to NS Cares, this year's Cincinnati BFG champion and a very worthy opponent!  We just learned that
they're donating 10% of their championship prize to Pets In Need!  Please connect with them on Facebook.

And - as a bonus, Pets In Need got fourth place in the national Brackets for Good 'Top Ten Play' highlights. Check out our Clinic Manager, Lavender, in the video by clicking here
