Newton Mayor, Setti Warren,
to serve as Woods Graduation Dinner
Keynote Speaker

The Woods College will be honoring its 2017 graduates at a Graduation Dinner, Tuesday, April 18th at 6pm in the Murray Room of the Yawkey Center.

Boston College alumnus Setti Warren, MCAS '93 will address the graduates.   An Iraq War veteran and two-term mayor of the City of Newton, one of BC's host communities, Warre
n is credited with spearheading a financial turnaround for the city, which was facing a fiscal crisis when he took office.

In 2013, he established the Mayor's Summer Youth Internship Program . The program serves as a stepping stone and hands-on learning experience for young adults in the community, providing internships that offer job experience and
exposure to the world of work.  The Woods College is looking forward to having an intern join us this summer and taking part in the program.

Woods Staff Spotlight
Katie Lyle, Assistant to the Dean

We are proud of Woods College staff member, Katie Lyle, recently highlighted in the BC Women's Center  Featured Feminist column.

The column is an "init iative by the Women's Center which aims to debunk the common stereotypes and stigma associated with the word
"feminist." By highlighting the profiles and achievements of dedicated, passionate individuals in the Boston College community, the Women's Center staff hopes not only to foster a greater sense of appreciation for people who bring the ideals of equality and social justice into their daily lives, but also raise awareness in the BC community towards a more positive and inclusive definition of the word feminism."
