There are four brand new 96-page books on their way to the world, all of them set to debut at the Hoodoo Heritage Festival. Nagasiva and i are hard at work in the type-mines these days, converting folk magic wisdom and knowledge into printed texts. Our good friend Greywolf Townsend, deep down in the pixel-mines, is sending us near-daily shipments of graphics to interleave with the words of our intrepid authors. We are making the final rush toward BOOK DEADLINE DAY, April 15th! Wish us luck, send us coffee, thank God for our team of volunteer proofreaders, and, please, do not phone us before 10:00 AM -- 'cause we've been up all night!

8:30 AM - 9:30 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017
Continental Breakfast and Reading Tent Open

9:30 AM - 10:30 AM Saturday, May 13, 2017
Opening Ceremony:
Storm Faerywolf & Co.

Witchcraft has long been associated with Faeries. Though modern sensibilities often depict them as diminutive sprites that delight children, folklore shows an altogether different picture. They are the spiritual essence of the land: creatures of light and shadow, existing just outside our normal awareness. They are uninhibited by human morality or convention, and so to some they are dangerous, while to the witch they are a source of much inspiration and power.

We will begin by paying homage to the Shining Ones and join their revelry that they may guide us in learning the deeper magics that come not by human hands, but from the spirits themselves.

TAKE-HOME: A two-page flier on Faery and your own be-ribboned and belled Faery Wands.

11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017
Hoodoo Herb and Root Medicine:
cat yronwode

Herbalism covers not only the magical Doctrine of Signatures that we know through the practice of rootwork, but is also intertwined with traditional medicinal curing. In this workshop you will discover the origins of pharmacology, learn how hoodoo healers employ plants for health, and explore the historical relationship between herbal remedies and folk magic.

MISS CAT presents us with an updated and edited version of a lost classic, "This Amazing Book," as a companion to her most popular book on conjure spells, "Hoodoo Herb and Root Magic." The new compilation, "This Amazing Book: Hoodoo Herb and Root Medicine," details the amazing realm of herbology as it intersects with folk medicine in a complementary fashion. Entries for the medical herbs in this new book are keyed to entries for the magical herbs in her previous book, so the two texts can be used together.

TAKE-HOME: Catherine Yronwode's brand new 96-page herbal text, "This Amazing Book: Hoodoo Herb and Root Medicine," plus a custom-made traditional medical herb mix.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017

Ouija Revelations:
Conjuring Spirits and Other Sorceries:
Chas Bogan

Both a venerated Spiritualist instrument and the Devil's favourite plaything, the Ouija (or spirit board) is often maligned and an under-utilized tool. CHAS BOGAN will present methods for effective spirit communication, and teach a variety of lesser known occult applications. From Victorian parlours to modern horror movies, we will investigate the stranger domains of American history through this iconic mystical mechanism.

TAKE-HOME: A two-page flier on talking board history and usage plus your own small, improvised Ouija board.

4:00 PM - 5:00 PM Saturday, May 13, 2017
Cursing and Crossing:
Miss Aida

This unique collection of spells features serious, hard-hitting, fast-paced, hot, and STRONG works of revenge and justice. Not for the lady-hearted or faint of spirit, this book includes full instructions for making and torturing doll-babies, imprisoning your enemies in coffin boxes, and freezing unwanted people out of your life. Using pins, needles, nails, feces, candles, oils, powders, and graveyard dirt, Miss Aida teaches you exactly how to torment, jinx, and mess up your adversaries and foes.

Now you too can benefit from the malevolent secrets of cursing and crossing, passed down through the generations, and brought to your fingertips in one handy spell-packed book.

Miss Aida is a Catholic Spiritualist, a natural born medium, and a hoodoo practitioner with deep roots in the Afro-Cuban traditions, who specializes in cursing, break up spells, spiritual eradications, establishing magical protection, and helping animals. The Potent Power of the Pendulum:
Dowsing beyond Divination:
Susan Diamond

Did you know you could cleanse a house of spirits using your pendulum? Pendulums in their many forms have long been an ally in conjure and witchery. But they are too often mentioned as a side note or minimized as a minor practice when they are a MAJOR tool with a broad array of applications. In this workshop, Susan is going to shine the light on this tool as not only a means for clear and concise divination, but for skills that reach beyond! She will cover the use of stones, bones, jackballs, keys and roots and how these elements affect the range, type, scope and direction of the answers that can be accessed. She will share how they can be used as spells, and even how to draw in and remove unwanted and wanted entities, in addition to better known uses such as dowsing, divining, healing, and prescribing.

TAKE-HOME: A two-page flier and two pendulums.

Vulvamancy:
Dr. Jeremy Weiss

While researching character and divinatory readings, Dr. Jeremy Weiss discovered a system for modern day yoni reading, based on ancient texts and information transmitted to him in his travels. "What is yoni reading?" you ask. Well, let's just say it's like palmistry, only "down there."

Not a hoax, not a dream, not an imaginary story, vulvamancy is a true mantic art -- and contained within these pages are eye-opening and mind-expanding instructions on both historical and contemporary yoni reading, so you too can learn how to "read a pussy."

Also featured are chapters on sacred sexuality, neo-tantra rituals, and folk magic spells for those equipped with, or worshipful of, vulvas.

Dr. Jeremy Weiss is a vascular, interventional, and diagnostic radiologist in Seattle who received his degree from Nova Southeastern University, trained at Columbia and Harvard, and has been in practice for more than 20 years.
