Panim Hadashot-New Faces joins with hosts all around Seattle to create beautiful Shabbat experiences in their homes and common rooms through Shabbat Hosting Partnerships. We partner with hosts to promote Shabbat hospitality by sharing an authentically beautiful and compelling Sabbath home experience featuring Jewish singing accompanied by music, thought-provoking conversation, and a shared meal. Our unique approach reflects our view that home and hospitality are at the center of the Jewish way of life. Panim Hadashot is organized to help Jews of all backgrounds enhance their practice of hospitality and to welcome “panim hadashot,” new faces, in sharing the joy and fellowship of Shabbat.
Panim Hadashot-New Faces formed the Heart of Shabbat Ensemble to bring to our hosts a unique mix of song, storytelling, and Jewish learning. The ensemble is led by Rabbi Dov Gartenberg and master guitarist, Ari Joshua, and includes other gifted musicians and singers.
Each Shabbat Hosting Partnership gathering is fashioned in collaboration with our hosts. We can create a beautiful Shabbat experience for adults, families with children, students, and organized groups. Below are some examples of what we have organized with our Shabbat Hosting Partners.
- Friday Evening Shabbat Tish. A Shabbat meal punctuated by joyful singing medleys, storytelling, and conversation.
- Friday Evening Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Service and Shabbat Meal. We create a spiritual and distinctive ambience that enables hosts and guests to enter Shabbat in a joyful spirit. It is followed by a Shabbat meal, conversation, and possibilities for learning with Rabbi Gartenberg.
- Saturday Late Afternoon-Evening End of Shabbat with Havdallah. This is a beautiful time to gather as Shabbat winds down, and the Heart of Shabbat captures its unique feel through song and story appropriate to this time of day.
We think that you will love being a Shabbat Hosting Partner. Below is a link to download information on how Shabbat Hosting Partnerships work. Shalom,
