Good Morning ,

I really hope this provides some much-needed 'BREXIT relief' and you have my word that there's no mention of Article 50 in this Newsletter! Just lots of pictures of figs, stories of figs and event to go in a fig!

Winters over and it's getting closer to that time of year we all crave for, when our little cars with their 'quick-drop hoods' come into their own. Last weekend I gave 'Belle' its first polish of the year. I cannot wait for the Yorkshire Rally which is now just 8 weeks away.

There's no let-up in interest in the car and the club's busier than ever with more and more new members joining and newbies wanting to know all about the Fig and where they can buy one?

And finally, just when I think there's nothing more anyone can teach me about the Figaro (apart from Simon Smith). I find to my horror that we have been publishing incorrect information over the years on the Production Numbers. Member Mark Dodd has done some serious digging and investigating and has published comprehensive information such as the colour split which we always thought was 6k,6k,6k,2k but is actually...

Colour - Old numbers - New Numbers
Lapis Grey - 6,000 - 8,156 (actual)
Emerald Green 6,000 - 5,632 (actual)
Pale Aqua - 6,000 - 3,989 (actual)
Topaz Mist - 2,000 - 2,279 (actual)

Funnily enough this adds up exactly with the quantity and colour split of cars we've had to our events over the years. Learn more
New Website gets off to a flying start
Feedback from our new site (launched on Saturday18th April) has been excellent. We have tried very hard to make it logical and easy to use in addition to working on a mobile device. Our Events section now includes over 25 entries and more will be added soon. Members also have their very own Members' Area where you can login and edit your personal info in addition to renewing your membership & logging into restricted pages. If you've not yet had a peak, check it out now - Click here

Jersey Figaro Rally 2018 - (14th -18th May)

We are delighted to announce that next year the club will be return to the beautiful island of Jersey in the Channel Islands for our annual club rally. It was 8 years ago when we last visited this historical and truly stunning place that's small on size, but big on personality. The roads are made for our little cars and being quiet are perfect for some awesome country and seaside convoys! Learn more

Next weekend its the Ace Cafe event in London and judging by the registration numbers its going to be a very busy one!

Have a great weekend and we'll catch you

Me and Sue during our Scottish Figaro Rally
next month :)

Warmest Regards

NEW ZEALAND
The photo on the right shows Figgy at a classic car rally in Canterbury, NZ, two week
e nds ago. The rally was to raise funds for the Waiau (pronounced 'why-ow') school in North Canterbury, spe cifically to help them rebuild their swimming pool which was badly damaged in the November 2016 earthquakes. Figgy was the only Figaro to attend the rally, out of 212 cars that attended, from a 1930 Alfa Romeo tourer to a 2017 Maserati and 2016 Ferrari.

Figgy held her ground well! The day was fine after a damp start and we ended the afternoon driving home with the top down. A great day out and for a good cause. In all over $3,500 was raised for the pool fund.

STOP PRESS - FIGARO SHOP ACE CAFE UPDATE

General Manager Danny Smith has provided a taster of what they will be showing...

New Products on display
We have a couple of new parts which we will be debuting at ace café. Probably the biggest is the rear trailing arm bush kit, we have been working in partnership with a poly bush manufacturer to be able to produce a kit of all 8 rear trailing arm bushes. These parts are NLA from Nissan and will transform the ride of any Figaro with the bushes having likely never been changed.

Also we will be bringing another set of new hoses which have been custom made to replace the boost/Air hoses on the car. This includes 4 hoses that are airbox to resonator, resonator to turbo and the two top turbo hoses that go on the rocker cover.

Our rear window frames will also be available on display as a finished article from our demonstration part of last year.

Ac Compressors, We were inundated with people looking for air - con compressors last year and only had a handful of working used units. After turning a few people away I decided to find a company that would refurbish them for us and as such we can now offer them fully rebuilt with a 12months warranty

Parts Stock
We will as always be bringing a bulk of stock that people will be able to buy on the day. We will be offering a fitting service on the day but this will be on a first come first served basis and we will try our best to get round to everyone but this may not be possible given the time we have. Bumpers will be available on offer on the day.

As always we will be bringing 8 of the team and will be available for a catch up or technical advice/help people may need.

HOW CAN I FIND THE DATE MY FIGARO WAS MANUFACTURED?
You can only establish the Month not the exact date of manufacture...
  1. First locate your VIN Number (Vehicle identification Number) which as an example will be like FK10-004551. This will be in the paperwork or located in the engine bay Learn more
  2. Now only using the last 6 digits (004551) input this into the SEARCH BAR Click here
  3. The record will be provided with Full VIN, Model Code, Type, Manufacture Date, Colour & Interior Colour.

ABOUT THE CLUB
Our Mission Statement
"To provide comprehensive advice and information to both present and future owners (in addition to having lots of fun in the process) and to ensure these wonderful cars and their providence is preserved for the next generation of owners"

Daniel after collecting 'Figgy'
outside our house on June 2008
How the club started
My son Daniel had always wanted a Figaro, having seen the car at our local garage when he was just 16. After saving for a number of years (plus a small contribution from his mum and dad) he brought an Emerald Green model in June 2008.

Following the purchase we scoured the internet for a members club in the hope that we could attend events with other owners, but were amazed that none existed...and so the Figaro Owners Club was born!  We decided to build a website and forum which took 6 months, and on the 1st March 2009 we pressed the 'publish button' and waited to see if anyone wanted to join. Within a week we had 10 members, a month 35 and a year 478 members.

Today the club has around 1,600 members worldwide in countries including New Zealand, Japan, Australia, USA, Canada, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Sweden and many more.
We are grateful to you and all our other members for help and encouragement throughout our journey as the club has grown into a passion which has taken over our lives - we FIGure in a good way.
Warmest Regards
