The RDGA Women's Team Handicapped Scramble returns for a second year in 2017, hosted by the beautiful Reservoir Creek Golf Club on Sunday, June 4 - just one of the NINE events for women on the 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule! Women - did you know that there are several opportunities to play in great events on this year's Rochester District Golf Association schedule? Most events are open to golfers of ALL abilities - all you need is an active USGA Handicap Index from an RDGA Member Club!
No less than FIVE events are open to women during the opening weeks of the 2017 RDGA schedule, beginning with the season-opening RDGA Play Day at Penfield Country Club on May 1. Also open to women RDGA members are the the Two Person Scramble at Mill Creek Golf Club on May 6 and the Two Person Four Ball at Wayne Hills Country Club on May 20 - plus, the second RDGA Play Day of the year at Stafford Country Club on June 12 .
In between is our popular RDGA Women's Handicapped Team Scramble , back for a second year and hosted by the beautiful Reservoir Creek Golf Club in Naples on Sunday, June 4! This event features teams consisting of four women golfers, with players being able to chose who to play with: teams may come from the same club or from different clubs! All levels of play are welcome - part of your strategy is putting together a team with the winning combination of skills and handicaps !
The 2017 RDGA Tournament Schedule also includes the annual RDGA Women's Open: a women-only celebration of golf, featuring several flights of competition for all levels of play - hosted this year by Irondequoit Country Club on September 1; along with two more RDGA Play Days - at  Brook-Lea Country Club on September 25 and at  Irondequoit Country Club on October 2. And for women golfers with USGA Handicap Indexes of 15.0 or less, there's the prestigious  RDGA Women's Championship Danielle E. Downey Memorial and the RDGA Women's Senior Championship on July 14 and 15 at Locust Hill Country Club.
So get some friends together, plan a "women's day out" at an RDGA event for women this season - and we'll see YOU on the golf course!

REMINDER: ELIGIBILITY for the
RDGA SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP MAY
DEPEND on HANDICAP STATUS      
    
A reminder to RDGA Members ages 55 and over who have already entered, or are planning to enter, the 2017 RDGA Senior Championship at the Country Club of Rochester on August 29 and 30: the starting field will be limited to a total of 90 players - and as of Friday, March 31, there have been 88 entries submitted. 
 
In the event the tournament is oversubscribed, we will be required to fill each division by lowest handicap index.
 
This event is a Championship Tournament. It is not a handicap event. This means that although you may have already registered for the event, if there are more than 90 players entered prior to the registration deadline of August 22, you MAY not be eligible to play in this championship event if other players have a lower Handicap Index than you. In the event that this does happen, those players already entered but are deemed ineligible due to handicap will receive a full refund of their entry fee.

RDGA EVENTS NOW OPEN
TO PLAYERS AGE 15 and ABOVE
         
The RDGA is pleased to announce that RDGA Members age 15 and above are now able to enter events on the 2017 Tournament Schedule for which they are eligible. Previously, the age limit for non-Junior RDGA events was 18 and above. Pre-qualified players of all ages will continue to be eligible to enter RDGA Championship events such as the RDGA District Championships.
 
This means that golfers between the ages of 15 and 17 are now eligible to enter regular RDGA events, including:
PLEASE NOTE:
- Players between the ages of 15 and 17 who wish to enter these events will be required to abide by the cart policies of the host site for each event. Please consult with the host course before registering for a specific event.
 
- The RDGA Mid Amateur Championship remains open only to male players ages 25 and above; and the RDGA Senior Championships remain open only to players ages 55 and above.

pertaining to age requirements for RDGA Tournaments. 
RDGA MATCH PLAY ENTRY DEADLINE APPROACHING
       
A reminder to RDGA Members who are pre-qualified for the 2017 RDGA Match Play Championship and the 2017 RDGA Senior Match Play Championship at Clifton Springs Country Club on May 26-28: Contestants for the Match Play Championships are invited based on the 2016 RDGA Player of the Year Point Standings. The Top 24 Point Leaders in each Championship (Men's and Seniors) will have until April 15, 2017 to guarantee a spot in the Match Play Championship. 
 
If any vacancies remain in the starting field for either Championship after April 15, we will begin to fill in the remaining spots by extending invitations to the next highest-ranked player on the Points List, until the 24 player brackets for each Championship are filled. Higher ranking players will have priority.
