Spring Camporee May 5-7 at Shiloh Park Retreat & Conference Center - Marion 
  
Activities will include challenge course with two-sided climbing wall, zip line, leap of faith pole, and giant swing. Cost:  $12.50 per person early bird registration by 3 pm April 12 and $15 thereafter.

Units May Now Apply to Participate in Lion Pilot Program for Kindergarten Age Boys

Sagamore Council will launch the Lion Program in 2017. This program is focused around fun adventures twice a month, and serves as an introduction to Scouting for kindergarten age boys.
The Council Membership Committee has decided to begin this pilot by approving up to six units to participate for the first year.

Campership Applications Due to Council by May 1st

Leaders, the May 1st deadline for submitting Campership applications to the council for any Boy Scouts or Cub Scouts who need financial assistance with camp fees this summer is fast approaching!  These must be completed and signed by a parent as well as leader.

Spring Cub Scout Shoot-Out

Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Cary Camp

Select one of two sessions  (8 AM - Noon or 1 PM - 5 PM)
Cost:  $5.00 per Boy if registered in CampMaster by April 12 or $10.00 per Boy after April 12.  No registrations accepted after April 19th.

We will be doing Archery, BB's, (two ranges) and slingshots!
No charge for adults, but please register adults so that we can make sure we have enough adults to keep the boys safe.  Slingshots, in particular, require one adult for each boy!  Register by Pack at CampMaster website.  Access more information here.


Great News!  Training Made Easier to Attain

My.Scouting.org E-Learning has added Scoutmaster Specific and Merit Badge Counselor Training as well as updating Troop Committee Challenge.  Online training modules take approx. the same amount of time to complete as attending a classroom training session.

Please take advantage of these trainings to provide the best experience for the youth we serve. Merit Badge Counselor Training will now be required before anyone is approved to serve in that position.

Cost:  $40.  Minimum of 15 participants needed to hold this training.

Scouting for Food

Scouting for Food is an excellent service project - Boy Scouts have partnered with Kroger and the Girl Scouts to help meet the needs of food banks across central Indiana.  Units may have their food drives when it best fits into their calendar and benefits most of the local food banks, but the Council dates are March 22 - April 5th.  Kokomo units are requested to coordinate their food drives with the Postal Carriers and United Way during May.  Access flyer for more details.
