We will begin Georgia Milestone End of Course (EOC) testing next week. The schedule below will be used during test administration window.  The EOC's will be administered beginning Monday, April 24 through Friday, May 5.

Milton students currently enrolled in the following EOC subjects:

CHANGES IN THE TESTING PROCESS:CHANGES
We have modified how we will administer the GA Milestone EOC tests this year.
  • Students who are required to take an EOC MUST report to school by the regular start time of 8:20AM.
  • Students who do not have an EOC scheduled on designated days and report to school at 8:20AM will be sent to the CAFETERIA for a supervised study hall.
  • ALL STUDENTS MUST report to school by 11:20AM on designated testing days as we will be running an adjusted schedule on those EOC administration days.
  • Students will be using their Fulton County issued Microsoft Surface 3 Tablet for testing. We will send reminders out for students to make sure their tablets are FULLY CHARGED and prepared for their test administration.

TENNIS
Milton varsity tennis teams capped off their regular seasons in impressive style! On March 29, the varsity girls team, with a regular season record of 15-2, placed 1st in the region  after defeating South Forsyth High School in a dramatic region championship match. As a result, the girls team advances to the state playoffs and will host Parkview on Tuesday, April 18 at 3:30PM.

Additionally, the boys varsity team, with a regular season record of 15-4, earned a state playoff berth by finishing third in the region with a win over West Forsyth. The boys team will travel to Brookwood High School on Wednesday, April 19 to play their first round match. Congratulations to both teams and Good Luck in State Playoffs!

JV BASEBALL
Congratulations to the Milton JV Baseball Team for winning the Region Tournament this past weekend. The boys were undefeated on Saturday and won the dramatic Championship game 2-1!

GOVERNOR'S HONORS PROGRAM
Congratulations to the following 8 Milton Students who have been selected as a State finalist for the 2017 Summer GHP Institute! Over 3,000 students were nominated to the state level competition this year.
The Georgia Governor's Honors Program (GHP) is a residential summer program for gifted and talented high school students who will be rising juniors and seniors during the program. The program offers instruction that is significantly different from the typical high school classroom and that is designed to provide students with academic, cultural, and social enrichment necessary to become the next generation of global critical thinkers, innovators, and leaders.

AVANTHIKA RAMESH RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD
Congratulations to Avanthika Ramesh for receiving the NCWIT Aspirations for Young Women in Computing National Award. The award recognizes young women who have undertaken inspirational activities in computing during their middle school and high school years and have impressive aspirations for careers in technology. There are at most 50 national award winners each year. Avanthika is Milton's first national winner!

Please join us on Friday, April 21 at 9:00AM in the College and Career Center of Milton High School for a very special CELEBRATION BREAKFAST! If you are a new parent or you are the parent of a senior you will not want to miss this celebration and time of fellowship.   We will be inducting our 2017-18 officers as well as celebrating an incredible year together! This is the time we thank and say good bye to parents that have poured their time and love into our school for many years and PLEASE- YOUR ATTENDANCE means so much! Come make some new friends and hug some old friends good-bye! This will be our last PTSA meeting of the year so lets finish strong!! THANK YOU for an INCREDIBLE YEAR!  
SENIOR RESPONSIBILITIESSENIORRESPONS
As we begin to approach the end of the year, there are a few items that all seniors must complete before they are cleared to participate in the MHS graduation ceremony. It is critical that each senior take his/her time and follow the directions accurately and completely. Students will need the following to complete the activities:
  1. A computer or device with internet access. We recommend that seniors bring their Surface to class and ensure that it is fully charged.
  2. Any scholarship information that he/she has been offered to date. This includes scholarships that he/she will be accepting as well as those that he/she was offered, but will not be accepting. 

The students will be completing the following activities:

  1. The Fulton County Senior Exit Survey, the GCIS After High School Transition Plan, and his/her Final Transcript Request Submission and Form (all online).
  2. The Final Transcript Request Form (paper submission).
Please note that all of these activities must be completed by April 28 in order to be cleared to participate in the MHS graduation ceremony.

SENIOR CELEBRATION AT SIX FLAGSSRCELEBR
Seniors, mark your calendars for Monday, May 22 for an all-day Senior Event at Six Flags! Buses will load at 9:30AM at MHS and will leave the park at 6:00PM to return to MHS. There will be chaperones on each bus and at the park. Ticket prices are $42 - paid for by your senior dues. This includes park admission, transportation, and lunch. Students may bring extra spending money for any additional items. If you have NOT paid your $85 senior dues, please pay ASAP so that all seniors can participate in the trip, just as they have all year in all senior PTSA events. If you are unsure if you have paid your dues, or for more info for paying dues, please email miltonsrdues@gmail.com so that the PTSA team can follow up with you.  Thanks to the PTSA Senior Events Team for organizing this special event. CIRQUE SPRING PERFORMANCESCIRQUE
Your Milton Theatre Company invites you their performance of Cirque OLANO. A cautionary tale of - What you want, or think you need is very often what you are better without!
Shows will be April 27-29 & May 4-6 at 7:00PM and matinee performances at 2:00PM on the 29th and 6th. Tickets are available online www.miltontheatrecompany.com ($15/$20) and will be sold at the door. This extravaganza will take your breath away and should not be missed!

2017-2018 ONLINE CLASS INFORMATIONONLINE
Milton High School is pleased to offer a variety of courses and learning opportunities to our students. Students who are interested in taking an online course during their regular instructional day (as one of their six Milton HS courses) must apply for an online class by May 1, 2017.
Students must apply by completing the MHS Google Document on the MHS website AND by registering with the online provider.
Students may apply with either GA Virtual ( www.gavirtualschool.org) or Fulton Virtual 
( http://www.fultonschools.org/en/divisions/acd/learnteach/InstrTech/Pages/FultonVirtual.aspx). All applications must be processed and approved by the counselor. If you have any questions please see your counselor. 

EARLY RELEASE OPTION FOR 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAREARLYRELEASE
Milton High School would like to reward rising seniors who have consistently shown success throughout their time in high school. Therefore, rising seniors are allowed to apply for an early release opportunity for the 2017-2018 school year. Rising seniors must apply for this opportunity by May 1 of their junior year. The application is available on the MHS website; specific qualifications are listed in the application. Please contact your counselor with any follow up questions.

2017 SUMMER SCHOOLSUMMER
Summer school registration has begun! Please review the summer school documents for face-to-face and online summer school options (link below). Students and Parents may register online by using the appropriate links. It is critical that students make up any courses that are required for graduation. Students will only be promoted to the next grade level if they have met the required number of credits by the first day of school.
Students must have:
5.0 credits to be a sophomore
11.0 credits to be a junior
17.0 credits to be a senior

COLLEGE & CAREER CENTER NEWS CCC
S TUDENTS
SENIORS: The graduation board will be going up in the cafeteria very soon! Please make sure you have completed the Senior Exit Survey (counseling), turn in your requests for your final transcript (1340), AND complete the CCC google form in order to be included on the wall. Information about the CCC form will be posted in the cafeteria beginning April 24.

Our wonderful college liaison will be "retiring" at the end of next school year (2018), as her daughter will be graduating. She would love to have someone start shadowing her this spring, in order to work with her next school year and then to take over the position. ATHLETIC PHYSICALSPHYSICALS
We will be providing athletic physicals (through Northside Hospital) on Saturday 4/22 at 8:30AM. The cost of the physicals are $15 (donation to ATC's). They will be held in the PE wing/gymnasium area. Please have all forms completed upon arrival. Each respective team has their updated forms. Contact your coaches or visit the athletic website for the necessary forms.
