When I first bought my properties in La Zona Romantica 10 years ago, I already was an antique and one-of-a-kind-shop aficionado. Growing up in Michigan, one of the signs that heralded spring were the estate sales almost every weekend.

f you have not experienced finding something valuable - a painting, an antique, an out-of-print something - at a price that stops you in your tracks, let me tell you....it's thrilling! It may have some monetary value or some intrinsic value just to you. Either way, you talk about it all day. You show it to all your friends. You call your mom.
But when I got here 10 years ago, I couldn't find stores in the colonia for this kind of treasure hunting. I am happy to say now that, in the last 5 years, I am now experiencing that same thrill in the tucked-away shops of our colonia.

Originally from Chihuahua, Juan Carlos has called Puerto Vallarta home for the last 12 years. He opened the store 6 years ago and has enjoyed working with local designers to offer a full-service decorating option for his customers. Irma, an original Vallartense, has operated for 10 years with all items in her store on a consignment basis. Her shop has a collection of accessories currently highlighting a full-size bar, perfect for a patio or game room.
