Leonard Litwin of Glenwood Management Corporation died on April 2 at his home on Long Island. He was 102. Mr. Litwin started in the real estate business in 1946, working with his father on developing garden apartments in Long Island. Over the course of his career, he developed more than 8,700 apartments in Manhattan, mostly luxury properties concentrated on the Upper East Side. He remained active at the company well into his nineties, working behind the scenes.

Thornton Tomasetti, the international engineering firm, announces that Ping An Finance Center in Shenzhen, China, has reached completion. The 599-meter supertall tower, for which Thornton Tomasetti provided structural design including performance-based design, has been recognized as the fourth tallest building in the world by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

In an expansion move, OLA Consulting Engineers, a Hawthorne-based mechanical and electrical engineering company, has announced the opening of its new Manhattan office located at 12 East 49th Street.
“We’ve been doing business in New York City since we started in 1974. In fact, in many years, half of our revenue is generated from clients in the city,” said Patrick F. Lynch, P.E., President of the company. “Having an office in Manhattan provides us with new opportunities for growth. It also enhances our ability to recruit young professionals who want to work and live in the city,” he added.
