Miriam's Well
Akiva Academy is organizing a Kosher foodbank drive for Miriam's Well. Two representatives from Jewish Family Services will be coming to speak to our students about this very important program.  There will be a donation bin outside the office until December 20. If you have any questions please see Morah Corinne or Morah Mickaela. Thank you for your support!

Traffic Safety
Please do not stop or park within 5 metres from the crosswalk when picking up or dropping off your children. We want to ensure the safety of everyone. Tickets will be issued as this is a traffic violation. 
Chanukah Play
Thank you to all the students, teachers, parents, and volunteers who made our Chanukah Play an amazing success! Please see the play bill for all the credits!


City Hall Menorah Lighting
Thank you to Rabbi Halpern for preparing our students to sing at City Hall. Our students once again did an amazing job!
Thank you to Mrs. Mashiah for making sufganiyot for the students and staff this week!


Olympic Group Edible Menorah Making
Thank you to Mrs. Kaufman for organizing edible Menorah Making on Friday morning. The students in Grades 1-9 enjoyed making their own edible menorah together with their groups.




Akiva Family Menorah Contest
Mazel Tov to the Moshkovits and Wilms families whose creative Menorahs tied for first place in the contest. Thank you to Mrs. Halpern and PTA for organizing the contest.

Calgary JCC Catchball Clinic
Calgary JCC Catchball is excited to host Coach Ilanit Frenkel from Israel/Las Vegas.
Ilanit was born and raised in Israel. She played Catchball for 4 years in Israel before moving to Vegas and establishing  a team there.
She organized the tournaments in Vegas, has coached there and attended the coaching clinic in Boston. Ilanit sits on the USA Catchball board.
Many of our team members have met Ilanit and we are thrilled to have her join us for a training clinic!
 
The clinic will be held at the JCC gym,
Saturday evening  December 16 from 6:30-8:30 with a Chanukah/Christmas Celebration to follow
Sunday December 17 from 11:00-3:00
Monday  December 18 at our regular time  8:00-9:30
