April 2017

Happy Spring!  This month we're highlighting one of our evidence based classes, Tai Ji Quan: Moving For Better Balanceā„¢ (TJQMBB) as April 29 is World Tai Chi and Qigong Day (WTCQD). TJQMBB transforms martial arts movements into a therapeutic regimen aimed at improving postural stability, awareness and mindful control of body positioning in space, functional walking and coordination, range of motion around the ankle and hip joints, and lower-extremity muscle strength.

Research has shown older adults participating in a TJQMBB community based class decrease their risk
of multiple falls by 55% and individuals with Parkinson's disease decrease their risk of multiple falls by 67% .

We currently have a class in session and p articipants are welcome to join at
an y time. Check out more  details under "Evidence Based Classes" and read about
WTCQD in the links under "Resource Corner."
