Stay up to date on what's happening at Bashore Scout Reservation
Thank you for choosing Bashore Scout Reservation 2017 Summer Camp!
We are excited for our upcoming summer at Bashore Scout reservation and are happy that you are part of it! Use the link below to find information about 2017 Summer Camp at Bashore Scout Reservation.

2017 Summer Camp Information
Merit Badge Class Sign up
Merit badge class registration will open on April 1 at 9AM. In order to sign up Scouts for Merit Badge classes they will need to have their $50 Scout deposit paid. Classes fill up quick, so I would encourage you to add your Scouts registrations early, so you just have to add their classes on April 1.
Afternoon Lakefront Merit Badge Schedule Updates
We have changed the afternoon Lakefront Merit Badge Schedule a little so we can offer BSA Paddle-boarding classes. We added BSA Paddle-boarding to periods 4 and 5. To add these classes we removed the Canoeing Merit Badge classes during period 4 and 5.
We have also added a Kayaking Merit Badge class during period 5 and removed the Rowing Merit Badge class during period 5.
Pre-Camp Leaders Meeting
The pre-camp leader orientation meeting will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017. Many of our staff members will be here to answer all of your questions and to tell you all about the programs we have in store for you this summer. We will talk about forms, pre-camp preparation, and the pre-camp arrival packet.  We also plan to have campsite assignments ready at this meeting. The meeting starts at 9AM with registration and breakfast available starting at 8AM.
Adding more Scouts
We have had questions about adding more Scouts after deposits are paid.  At this point troops can add new Scouts at anytime up to May 15 without any penalty. When you add a Scout you will need to pay the $50 deposit. Also once we reach our capacity we will not be able to add more Scouts.

Camp Staff

Serving as a member of the Summer Camp Staff at Bashore Scout Reservation is one of the most rewarding experiences a Scout or Scouter can have. Camp Staff members impact hundreds of lives each summer and serve as living examples of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

We are looking for people to be on our camp staff. Anyone 14 or older can become part of our Bashore Scout Reservation Staff. For more information or to apply click here.

PA Act 15 Clearances
PA Act 15 requires clearances for any adult, that is a Pennsylvania resident, working with children or who will be having care, supervision, guidance, or control of children as part of their volunteer responsibilities. The Pennsylvania Dutch Council Executive Board adopted a  Summer Camp Act 15 Compliance Policy  requiring all adults that attend camp to meet the requirements of the law and provide proof that they have completed the required clearances before arriving at camp. All clearances must be uploaded on the Pennsylvania Dutch Council website and be approved before attending camp. While this is an added step for adult camp attendees, it is the law and we must follow it. Full information on how to obtain the required background checks and how to submit them can be found at  http://padutchbsa.org/act15/ .
Pennsylvania Residents that are not part of the  Pennsylvania Dutch Council  may have submitted their clearances to their home council. The Pennsylvania Dutch Council  will also need those clearances submitted and approved by us in order to attend camp. Each Council is a different legal entity and PA Act 15 requires us to have copies as well.
Non-Pennsylvania residents are also affected by PA Act 15, as they must complete a non-resident disclosure statement. That can be found here. We ask that non-Pennsylvania residents to either mail their disclosure forms to camp with their health forms, or bring them to camp when they arrive.
Any adult that has not submitted their clearances online to the Pennsylvania Dutch Council will not be able to attend camp.
Please make sure to share this with any adults from your Packs that will be attending camp so they can get these checks taken care of early!
Eagle Academy
Don’t let your Scouts miss out on Bashore’s Eagle Academy! Held July 30-August 5, 2017. Eagle Academy is a great way for Star and Life Scouts to get a jump on a few Eagle required merit badges and enjoy another week at camp.  Space is limited to the first 25 applicants.
New for 2017 Specialty weeks
Bashore is offering three different specialty weeks, designed for the seasoned Scout who is looking for new challenges and some high adventure. Their choices are BSA Life Guard Week, Search, Rescue, and Survive Week, and Cycling Week. Older Scouts may either attend provisionally, or they may attend with their troop. Each of the specialty weeks runs parallel to the regular camp activities. See the  Older Scout Program description  for more information. (These specialty weeks replace the former Trailblazer program.)
