Moonshine, Casey Big Things and the Toyota Plant Tour

Friday was a lovely day to drive through Casey to see how this town is adding multiple Guinness Book of World Record large objects to get travelers to pull off of I-70 and visit their town.

We learn that location is very important in business, but Moonshine totally proves that you can be located anywhere and people will find you if you have a good product like moon-burgers.

Then we travelled to Princeton, Indiana and saw the marriage of man and machine on the assembly line to put together vans and SUV's. Thank you once again to KC Summers who sponsored this fantastic day of learning and networking.




Learning about 3-D Printing and Revit

Leo Kitten lets LLC students print interesting products in their class - a head of President Bullock, rockets, virtual reality glasses and wind turbine models.

He toured us around the manufacturing classrooms and discussed how 3-D design is getting easier and more efficient with software such as Revit.

A LLC student showed us his home model on the computer that can change dimensions with a touch of a button and the computer can estimate the building materials needed to build it.



First Impressions Tour

Vicky and Cambry Hinds are co-owners of First Impressions in Charleston. They shared the education and steps they took to get into business for themselves and how to attract new business each year. A new marketing strategy that has been successful for them is to promote children's birthday parties at the shop with theme-based activities and props.
Corner of Happy & Healthy

Chad Harrison, manager at the Charleston Walgreens, gave us a tour and discussed the changes in the pharmacy industry. Walgreens wants their stores to be within 2 miles of 80-90% of the population. They now focus more on health and offer immunizations and follow-up calls with patients to make sure they take their medicine.
