 Dear Families,

Join Us Tomorrow for Grandparents/Special Person: Please note that we have delayed the start of the Living Stations by 15 minutes to 9:00 AM. The Living Stations will take place in the church, performed by 8th grade students. Afterward, join us at the school to visit your grandchildren's classrooms.
School Accreditation : On April 19, 20 and 21 there will be a team of teachers and principals who'll come to our school to review the self-study report that we have been working on for the past two years. All teachers will be interviewed. Students will be interviewed too. The team will be making random phone calls to parents. They will ask you about the strengths of the school and about any areas that you feel need improvement. The team will also look at our school's long range plan which has been developed with goals for improvement. We are being re-accredited through MNSAA (Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association.)
Uniform Shorts: The weather has warmed up faster than expected, therefore students may begin wearing uniform shorts on Monday, April 3rd. Please make sure their shorts fit them per the uniform code.
NWEA Testing: Our spring MAP (NWEA) testing will begin on Wednesday, April 19 and continue through Friday, May 12th. As in the fall, NWEA will be administered to all 2nd through 8th grade students. You child's teacher will be looking for his/her academic achievement and growth from fall to spring. An NWEA report will be sent home to you with your child's results. The NWEA is aligned to our standards allowing us to measure your child's individual progress by standard. You will receive specific recommendations for learning opportunities targeted just for your child.

Not Allowed on Campus: It is important to keep your toys at home, especially when they resemble guns. Please do not bring your airsoft, water, paintball and nerf guns etc. to school. This is a serious violation of school policy. Thank you.

  STEMSTEM Night

Our preschool and kindergarten students along with their families enjoyed a night of exploring and building at our Preschool and Kindergarten STEM event thanks to Curious Minds, LLC. Animal tracks and earth worms were popular at the animal exploration station.  Families built cars using cardboard tubes and life saver mints, tennis ball lifts and roller coaster tracks.  The creativity and curiosity of our youngest learners was evident throughout the evening.

  MathMath Academy

Sister Melissa is offering the St. Michael Math Academy this summer for students entering high school or already in high school. The objective is to give students a head start in their math studies. Past students find it to be a very helpful program that makes math "much easier" during the school year and say that it cuts down homework time. We review familiar concepts and new concepts so they are familiar in the fall.

Classes meet the weeks of Aug 6th and 13th and cover both review and new math topics in a study group/discussion format. Classes are two weeks in duration, meeting two days per week. Students should attend the math class they signed up for in the fall.

Classes offered: geometry, honors geometry, algebra 2, honors algebra 2. Math analysis, pre-calculus, and calculus are available upon request. These classes are aligned to the math classes at PLHS, but they work for students attending other high schools as well.

Contact Sister Melissa for dates, times and syllabi.
