explores what she has learned about communication and the Alda Method™ since working with actor
Alan Alda and his team of world-class science communicators. The talk offers insightful reflections on pivotal moments of division and harmony in our political culture and personal lives. The Alda Method™ is interactive and experiential. Audience members will be encouraged to participate in some of the improv exercises, which will be introduced during the talk.

Saturday, April 22 at 2:00 p.m. Bobcats in Connecticut
at the Kent Town Hall, 41 Kent Green Boulevard.
The presentation by Paul Colburn focuses on the natural history of
bobcats in CT, an overview of bobcat habitat, diet, behavior, reproduction, and current research efforts. Bobcat artifacts are shared with the audience. The topic of mountain lions is also addressed. The presentation runs 60-90 minutes, depending on the level of audience engagement. It is intended for ages 12 and older.
Paul Colburn is a graduate of Master Wildlife Conservationist Program (MWCP) and is a certified Master Wildlife Conservationist (MWC). The presentation is suitable for ages 12 and up. There will be a suggested donation at the door of $5.00. Please register.

presented by New Milford resident, Karen Pease Marino, in the Reading Room. Join the Library and Dr. Joseph Baxer as we hear and see
a presentation about Karen Marino's inspiring journeys to Uganda.
After two trips to Uganda, Karen has learned about
the generous people, the beautiful and rich natural beauty, living conditions, schooling, food,
and has became friends with Ugandan women living in extreme poverty. She will share first-hand how
extreme poverty affects the women and their families living there.

that are 10,000 to over 500 million years old,

IT'S TIME....
It's time to start thinking gardens; beautiful flowers, sweet smells, luscious growth, and of course abundant harvests! The Kent Memorial Library has a wonderful assortment of donated seed for you to peruse and use. Just be kind and return some seed for others to try! Looking for native plants to attract pollinators? We've had several donations of blooming native plants that are beneficial to Kent's natural pollinators. So don those gloves, sink into some warm soil and watch the miracle of seeds!

8:30 a.m. to 12 noon, on the St. Andrew's Church lawn. They will have gardening books for sale, as well as plants, outside furniture, tools, flower pots and miscellaneous items.
Remember, we are always looking for Volunteers for this summer! Volunteers are needed to do tasks such as: Set Up, Book Sorting, Book Pricing, Table Stocking, Opening & Closing (tarping) and more. Please email Dori Smith at [email protected] or sign-up at the front desk at the Library.
Book Donations are always welcome!
We are pleased to accept your books year round. If you have a large donation, please call ahead to facilitate unloading the books at the old firehouse.
We can you give a tax card for a charitable donation. All sales benefit the Kent Memorial Library. We are always especially in need of current fiction, including children's books, jigsaw puzzles, movies on DVD, music and books on CDs, and non-fiction books. (there are particular items we cannot accept, such as magazines, Reader's Digest condensed books, older textbooks, VCR tapes, encyclopedias, books which have a mildew odor, records, books on cassettes.)
