Brookhaven awarded loan for land conservation project
The city of Brookhaven was awarded a $5.7 million Clean Water State Revolving Fund loan by the GEFA executive committee in February. The loan will finance the acquisition of 33 acres of forested land adjacent to the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) that will preserve one of the largest remaining tracts of urban forest in Metro Atlanta, and help protect the watershed of Peachtree Creek.

Communities receive financing for environmental infrastructure projects
The GEFA board of directors awarded $49 million for environmental infrastructure projects during its January meeting. Three communities received Drinking Water State Revolving Fund loans, six communities received Clean Water State Revolving Fund loans, and three communities received Georgia Fund loans.
