LAMOTH will host the "Voices of Hope" Student Film Showcase on Sunday, April 30 in partnership with the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival.
A mix of vibrant storytelling, including fiction, documentary, drama and comedy, this exceptional collection highlights personal stories told through the eyes of students citywide and nationwide. Join us as we celebrate young filmmakers at LAMOTH.

WEEK IN REVIEW:
"Legacies of Survival" Writing Workshop for 2Gs and 3Gs
Our "Legacies of Survival" workshop series for descendants of Survivors launched this week with a memoir-writing workshop led by Board member and docent Michele Gold. Michele, author of "Memories that Won't Go Away: A Tribute to the Children of the Kindertransport," spoke about how she uses her mother's experiences as a Kindertransport Survivor to teach the Holocaust.

SURVIVOR SPEAKER SERIES:

Henry Slucki was born in 1934 in Paris, France to Polish-Jewish parents. After Nazi Germany's initial occupation of France, Henry and his family resettled to the south, where they remained until 1942. That year, Nazi Germany invaded the whole country, and Henry's family escaped through the Pyrenees on foot. Eventually they made their way to Barcelona, Spain. From Barcelona, Henry's parents made the difficult decision to send him to the United States by himself as part of First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt's initiative to save refugee children. After the war, he moved to Los Angeles, where he became a professor of behavioral science. Henry is actively involved with LAMOTH and its educational programs.
Henry's talk will be preceded by a docent-led tour at 2:00 pm.
