Youth Sunday 2017

Rachel Barker-Asto and Mark Loria Present Art Songs in "Apparition"
This Sunday, March 26, at 3:00 PM Rachel Barker-Asto and Mark Loria will present a recital of 20th- and 21st-century art song entitled "Apparition: Reflections on Life, Love, and Death." 

This free recital will feature works by George Crumb, Thomas Whitman, and Paul Moravec. Come experience these fascinating American works performed by two outstanding musicians.
Catherine Rodland Organ Recital
Join us next Friday, March 31, at 8:00 PM for a much-anticipated organ recital presented by Dr. Catherine Rodland, featuring works by Mendelssohn, Brahms, Bach, Craig Phillips, and Vierne. Catherine has toured extensively and is a prizewinner in many national and international organ competitions.  A reception will follow this free recital.

This Sunday, March 26, we go to 16th-century England with historian Alastair Bellany for two views on the early days of the Reformation. 

 

In the Music Room, with Melissa Martin we continue our study of the psalms of lament, looking at the trope of declaring trust in God. 

 

Plus 1st Corinthians in-depth with George Hunsinger continues in Mclean House. 

Tom Charles Next Conference
Church member Tom Charles recently spoke at the national NEXT Church conference of the PC(USA) about the refugee family, our resettlement efforts, and his personal experience. Click above to watch his 15-minute talk. Says Tom, "It is when I'm working with a refugee family that I feel closest to Christ."
