Red Jasper 'Classic'
A Perfect Stone For The Holiday Season!
Jasper is a fine-grained variety of chalcedony. It was derived from the Greek iaspis. It was used as a touchstone in ancient times to determine the gold content when testing gold-silver alloys. Rubbing the alloys on the jasper produced a streak, the color of which determined the gold content. Its physical properties are those of quartz. Suitable for all indoor applications.
Highly appreciated by the shamans as a scared and powerful protective stone and to put to earth. Each of these slabs contain specially selected 'specimen cuts' of classic red jasper to optimize the visual effects of the gemstone. It is interspersed with 400 million year old ammonites.
