Purely Parks Newsletter

Purely Parks. Those two words sum it all up. Tulsa parks are the gateway to nature, green space, trails, playgrounds, picnics, recreation and community. As stewards of Tulsa park land, the City of Tulsa Parks' family is passionate about their work and strive to provide the best park programs and park space for Tulsans. We hope you enjoy Tulsa parks and the many pleasures they have to offer.

This quarterly newsletter will focus on the creativity, accomplishments and activities at Tulsa parks. Feel free to share this newsletter with other nature and park enthusiasts. Enjoy!

Self-Defense Class Teaches Survival Skills

Central Center hosted a self-defense class on February 7 featuring martial arts experts, Anthony Hervey, Jacob Boydstun and James McGill. The free session engaged participants in practical and easy to apply survival skills and how to stay safe in a variety of scenarios. Thank you to our experts for the eye-opening experience.
Trails Expanding at Mohawk Park

Tulsa Parks has been working with a small group of volunteers to open designated trails in Mohawk Park that can accommodate horseback riding, walking, and bicycling. The trails are a combination of existing trails that need to be cleared of tree debris and undergrowth. Parks staff is working to establish the new trails using the perimeters provided by current property lines and utilities. Once work is complete, approximately 5.1 miles of trails will be open for Tulsans to enjoy.
