Student Council Summer Toy and Clothing Drive
Pleasantdale Student Council is collecting new summer toys and clothing items for kids in need. Ideas for donation include beach balls, flip flops, sunscreen, beach towels, beach toys, sunglasses, bathing suits, pool toys, shorts and t-shirts. Please leave toys in their original packaging and tags on all clothing items. Donations will be collected at school May 1st-19th. For more information,

Author Kevin Sherry to Visit on April 24th
Pleasantdale Elementary would like to welcome author Kevin Sherry on April 24th at 9:30 am. The author will be presenting to the students in grades 2, 3, and 4. Kevin Sherry is the author of several books including Yeti Files, I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean, and his newest book Remy Sneakers vs. the Robo-Rats. Pleasantdale Taking Part in 3rd Annual
WSCAE Student Art Expo
On Saturday, April 29, more than 525 pieces of artwork created by local elementary and middle school students will be on display at Cheney Mansion (220 N. Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, IL). Artwork from
Pleasantdale Elementary and
Pleasantdale Middle students will be on display in the expo. This free event is open from 10:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. This marks the third consecutive year that 15 school districts in the West Suburban Consortium for Academic Excellence (WSCAE) are hosting the expo to showcase K-8 student artwork.
Student artists will be present to discuss their pieces during the display period. A number of professional artists from surrounding communities will be on hand to view the artwork and provide feedback. All guests will have the opportunity to submit "fan mail" to the student artists, as well, highlighting what they like most about the pieces. The event will additionally feature members of the Oak Park Art League, who will be leading live art demonstrations.

School Board Vacancy Announcement Reminder
The Pleasantdale District 107 Board of Education announces that it is accepting applications for candidates to fill a School Board vacancy. The term will run from April 2017 till April 2019. Residents of District 107, 18 years of age or older, who are interested in the appointment should submit a letter of intent, resume and the candidate form which is available on the district website
