Trusting Employees

Nucor ( symbol NUE) has a culture of decentralization. Even though they have over 20,000 employees there are only 5 managerial levels. They prefer to push most decisions down to the employees closest to the issue at hand. Apparently, this strategy is contributing to increased productivity and higher employee moral.

This 2-minute video features a number of employees sharing their views on the unique culture at Nucor. (Sorry, this is the closest link to the video. After clicking this link click on the middle/3rd video at the bottom that reads, "Loving what we do".)
