New Teaching Series - Pastor Brian Coles will kick off our four-part Unlikely Heroes series this Sunday with a message on Samson called "Out of Weakness, Made Strong."

Lost and Found - Have you lost a coat, glove, dish, or Bible? The Lost and Found closet in the Resource Center is full. Please take a moment to check the closet this Sunday to see if anything belongs to you. Older items not claimed by the end of April will be donated to a charitable organization.

Eastgate House of Prayer - We know that worship-saturated prayer rises like a fragrance before God’s throne to declare his glory and reign over all circumstances, relationships, and governments. Join us this Tuesday at 7 p.m. as Kris Flewelling and her team lead us in a powerful evening of Worship with the Word. Childcare is available through age 5. All are welcome!

Mulch Day - Small groups and individuals are invited to help spread mulch on the Petra campus Saturday, May 13, at 8 a.m. Sign up in the lobby beginning this Sunday.

Due to the Power and Love Conference this week, the Adoptive and Foster Families' Group at Petra will meet next Thursday, April 27, from 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Faye Hall and Jeff Merkert will continue their input on trauma, with a focus on "The Six Trauma-Disrupted Competencies" in children. Groups are provided for adopted children, adopted teens, and biological siblings, along with child care. The cost is $15 per family unless you receive SWAN funds. If you intend to come, please contact Lisa Troncale at 717-399-3213 by Wednesday noon
Senior Adults
Senior Adult (62+) Service Opportunity - Come for a morning of service at the Blessings of Hope warehouse at 48 Eagle Drive in Leola! It's on Thursday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. Blessings of Hope receives and warehouses food from businesses in our area for distribution to local food pantries, including the Petra Food Bank. We will be packaging bulk foods for distribution. Following our work time, we will enjoy lunch together at a local restaurant. If you would like to join us, please sign up in the lobby on April 30 or May 7.
Petra Young Adults
The Maine Event - Join us for the annual week of work and fun at Fair Haven Camps in the beautiful state of Maine. You'll have a blast while serving the Lord from June 25 through July 1. If you're a young adult 18 or older, single or married, and would like more information, please contact Rob King at 717-344-6035. Register online or sign up in the lobby this Sunday or next Sunday. The cost to participate is $100 per person.

W! Morning Out - The next coffee and painting event will take place on Saturday, April 29, from 9:30-11:30 a.m. We will be painting a robin's nest (pictured). The cost is $20 per person. To register for this event, contact Amanda Crooks at 717-580-5778.

CD Recording Available - If you missed the 2017 Women's Conference and would like to hear the excellent presentations by women working with North Star Initiative, you can pick up a CD recording in the Resource Center.

Reducing the Risk Training - Are you a Petra volunteer working with children? You need to complete “Reducing the Risk” training, facilitated by Pastor Kim. The next training is set for this Tuesday at 7 p.m. in East 317 (SLC). Please contact Pastor Kim at kimw@petra.church if you plan to attend.  

Stewards of Children Training - Many parents desire to learn as much as they can to keep their children safe, especially when it comes to sexual abuse. How does a parent accomplish that without creating a lot of fear and misunderstanding? Click on the button to read about Stewards of Children training led by Pastor Kim on April 29. 
Local Outreach
Homes of Hope - Are you interested in bringing stability to families experiencing homelessness? Mentors and budget coaches are needed for Homes of Hope New Holland. The following training is being offered in May. All costs are covered for the workshops.
  • Mentor Workshop - Tuesday, May 9, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Willow Street Mennonite Church. Please register by May 2.

  • Budget Coach Training - Friday, May 14, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ephrata Community Church. Please register by May 12.

Global Missions
Mulch Fundraiser - The youth are are continuing to sell mulch as a fundraiser for their mission trip to Orlando, Florida, with YWAM. Premium black or brown mulch is available for $40 a yard, with free delivery. You may also opt to have the youth spread it for you by donation. Purchase mulch online or at a table in the lobby April 30 or May 7. The next delivery and spreading date is May 13.  

Mission Prayer Focus - Joe and Jeniece Kingman and their family are Petra missionaries serving on staff with YWAM Orlando. Joe oversees the grounds-keeping at the YWAM base and Jeniece serves as part of the leadership team at the base. Pray for God’s wisdom, provision, and blessing in their ministry and in their relationships with other staff and students at the YWAM base.

Fundraiser Meal - Enjoy some delicious food at an Amish Wedding Meal this Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Café! Proceeds will go toward Andrea Beiler, who will be serving at the YWAM base in Redding, California, from May 7 through October 1. Take outs will be available after the 9 a.m. service.

Chicken BBQ Fundraiser - Pastors Mario and Jeanette Araya on behalf of Peniel Ministries invite you to a chicken barbecue fundraiser next Saturday, April 29, beginning at 8:30 a.m. The location will be at Hibshman's Auto Service at 4630 Division Highway (Route 322), Blue Ball, between Ewell Road and Toddy Drive.   

Oregon Dairy Fundraiser - Help raise financial support for the Petra mission team going to Poltava, Ukraine, this summer by participating in the Dinner Bell Fundraiser at Oregon Dairy! Dine in the restaurant at Oregon Dairy on Tuesday, May 2, any time from 3 to 8 p.m., and Oregon Dairy will donate 20 percent of your total purchase to the mission team. Just mention "Petra Church Ukraine Mission Trip" to your hostess or server. 
Israel Study Tour
Petra member Dr. Theresa Newell will hold an informational session regarding the next “God’s Faithfulness” Israel study tour she will be leading from October 12-24, 2017. The meeting is set for this Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. in North 115 (North Hall).  Theresa will show a brief DVD about the tour, offer printed materials with details, and answer questions.  All are welcome!  For more information, contact Theresa at Theresa@cmj-usa.org or 717-351-5460.
