First off, you have to understand I use my SmokinTex... A LOT! Have had it in use for 8 years now, thus the appearance. It smokes meat as well today as the day I got it, maybe better because it is WELL seasoned. It's my outdoor cooking work horse!
Here's some easy to make smoked beans. I begin by cutting 3 strips of bacon into small pieces and frying until crispy. And then, I add a diced jalapeno pepper and one medium size onion. Next, I add a big can of Pork N Beans.
Then.. the skillet goes into my SmokinTex 1400 with a little wild plum wood for about 40 minutes, just long enough to give the beans a good smoked flavor. This will be supper around here.. with some fried venison steak... Not bad vittles!
