Lyme Disease is on the Rise
As a loving pet parent, you try to keep your furry family safe and out of harms way so that you can avoid a premature need to use CCPC services. The maps above show the existence of Lyme disease, one of the most common
tick-transmitted diseases, is on the rise.
Lyme disease is affecting more and more dogs each year. Easily transmittable, your pet can get infected while enjoying a stroll along a walking path, hiking in the hills, or even while playing in your own back yard.
Prevention is key to keeping your pets safe so that they can live well into their prime. Check your pet's coat and skin daily and if ticks are found,
remove ticks with a tick remover assuring you get the head/jaws as well as the body and legs. Your veterinarian can also recommend a Lyme vaccine and a variety of sprays, collars, and topical products that kill and repel ticks.
If you do happen to notice and remove a tick(s) from your pet, be aware of some symptoms associated with Lyme disease including recurrent lameness due to inflammation of the joints, stiff walk with an arched back, sensitivity to touch, difficulty breathing, fever, lack of appetite, and depression.
If you notice any of these symptoms or have concerns about your pet, contact your veterinarian immediately.

Beloved Bunnies
Springtime always makes us think of daffodils, jelly beans and bunnies. For those pet parents who prefer pets who like to "hip-hop", here are two lovely resting places.
This adorable metal rabbit statue urn measures 4 3/4" high and can accommodate cremains for bunnies weighing up to 10 pounds. Available in Silver, Bronze, and Copper with a secure threaded lid closure on the bottom, this urn suggests a thoughtful moment before hopping off for an adventure.
