I hope you are experiencing a blessed Lent as we prepare to celebrate our Savior's Resurrection.
We just had a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our Lord's beautiful gift of LIFE at the annual Bishop's Pro-Life Dinner, featuring pro-life writer and advocate, Eric Metaxas. I hope that you were able to join us and that your evening was a memorable one.
Also this month is a special opportunity for your priest(s) at your parish - a free seminar on healing after abortion featuring presentations by clergy, professional counselors and retreat graduates. Please share the flyer available here with your pastor or priests. More information and registration for the seminar can be found at www.prolifedallas.org/seminar.
Please also mark your calendar for the following upcoming events:
And now as we approach the commemoration of Our Lord's Passion and Resurrection, let us focus on Jesus' two natures, His Devine and His human nature. I just recently attended the Missions during Lent. The priest reminded us that often we tend to think of Jesus as God, which he truly is. However, we tend to forget that he also was human, thus experiencing the same feelings that we all do as well. He felt anger when he overturned the tables in the Temple. He experienced compassion when he cured the sick. He experienced love when he performed His first miracle in Cana. He experienced disappointment when Judas betrayed Him. He experienced mercy when, on the cross, he asked God the Father to "forgive them for they know not what they do."
Let us never forget that Jesus, the God Man knows exactly what we go through every day and is with us every day as we also experience disappointments, joy, and love. Also let us ask Him to help us show Mercy to those around us as we defend the most vulnerable.
May God's blessings be upon you, as you live your Parish Pro-Life Coordinator commitment to saving God's precious babies, helping their mothers, and building a culture that respects all life, from conception to natural death.
