This past week, Emmaus had the whole week off of classes "Easter Break."  But the exhausted crew who returned this Monday had obviously received anything BUT!

Easter week is a big week for all of us...a fantastic platform for marveling at the cross, for meditating on our Risen Savior, and for sharing Christ crucified...and risen indeed!

For our staff and students, Easter week meant planning, coordinating and leading all-night prayer vigils, foot-washing services, evangelism outreaches, community programs, children's clubs, baptism services, concerts, and lots of opportunities to boldly preach the Gospel.

Fourth-year student Aldy said this morning that it was when hundreds of community children crowded around his laptop to watch the Jesus film the Wednesday before Easter that God used to touch his heart in a new way.

"I've always known there are lots of kids in our community who don't know the Lord, and who aren't in families who know the Lord.  But I couldn't believe how MANY children there were, and how many of them have NO ONE looking after them, no one helping them.  Maybe they find some food here and there, but they are not in school, they have no opportunities, they have no FUTURE."

"Watching them all that day," he continued, "God gave me a vision and a heart to help them.  I graduate in a few weeks, and now I know what God wants me to do.  I'm moving back to my community full-time to help teach these children...both what they need to know to succeed in life, and most, about the God who loves them.  Please pray for me!"

Phida (staff), Nosebin (2nd year) and Simon (3rd year) shared pictures (above) and stories of the long-awaited baptism that took place in DuFour this past weekend.  Thirteen converts from the past several months were baptized, two days of training and discipleship were dedicated to the youth, and four days of community church activities led to a witchdoctor's conversion.

And those are just the stories of these four!

As we gear up to finish the school year well at EBS, it is beautiful to see the joyful fatigue of men and women poured out.

Thank you for being a part of all the ministry happening here at Emmaus...and everywhere else.
