Public Services Building Seismic Retrofit Underway
The Charles D. Cameron Public Services Building (PSB) Seismic Retrofit project is now underway. During construction, Washington County Department of Land Use & Transportation (LUT) offices located in Suite 350 will remain open during normal business hours, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, visitors may want to allow extra time for parking and access to the building. Patience is appreciated while these critical seismic upgrades are being made.

Construction impacts for PSB visitors:
  • Construction fencing has been installed on both the east and west sides of the building.
  • The only public entrance is on Main Street (south side of the building).
  • The 30-minute and accessible parking spaces on the west side of the building are closed due to construction activity. Two-hour parking and accessible parking spaces are available in the parking lot north of Lincoln Street, as well as the parking garage at First Avenue and Washington Street. Additional two-hour parking is available in the parking lot on the east side of Adams Avenue (west of the PSB and railroad tracks).
  • Two elevators inside the building continue to provide public access to LUT's offices on the third floor (Administrative Services, Planning and Development Services and Survey).
  • There may be intermittent vibration, noise and dust impacts from the construction, both inside and outside the building.
  • Board of County Commissioners regular meetings, work sessions, Planning Commission meetings and Public Hearings before the Hearings Officer will be at either the Hillsboro Civic Center Auditorium or the Washington Street Conference Center.
