Budget Process and Annual Meeting of the Electors

On Monday, March 13 the Township Board of Trustees will hold the budget public hearing at their regular meeting. The property tax millage proposed to be levied to support the proposed budget will be a subject of this hearing. The meeting will take place at Fire Station #2, 18964 174th Ave. at 7pm.

On Monday, March 27, at 6pm, the Annual Meeting of the Electors of Spring Lake Township will take place at Barber School, 102 W. Exchange St. Township Manager Gordon Gallagher will present budget information at this meeting. Immediately following the Annual Meeting the Township Board will meet to consider the General Appropriations Act for 2017-2018.

Assessing Information

Assessment change notices have been mailed. These are the forms that state "This is not a tax bill." This notice indicates what the assessor has determined your property is worth and how much of that value is taxable.

Property owners wishing to appeal their assessment may make an appointment to meet with the Board of Review by calling the Assessing Department at 616-844-2108. The Board of Review is meeting on Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14 to hear appeals. A letter may also be sent to the Assessing Department; the letter must be received by 5pm on March 14.
