Fired Up, Ready To Go!
Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr., Lady Tiffany E. Grant King, and the Memorial Tabernacle Family welcome you to our worship services.  We invite you to become a part of a growing ministry that is "reaching to teach, teaching to change" one person and one block at a time.   We pray you will enjoy the service and worship again with us.

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.
Notes On Sunday's Sermon
"REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD" (Colossians 1:13-14)

And when you put your trust in God, you discover that God has already put more trust in you than you are able to put in Him. God believes in you more than you believe in God. God believes in you more than you believe in yourself. God trusted you enough to make you. God loved you enough to save you. Failure is real, but God is more real. Failure is tough, but God is  more powerful. Failure will hang around a long time, but God is greater and mightier and longer lasting than any failure you can possibly experience.

Let me tell you, if God is for you, He's more than what anyone can do against you. One of these days you're going to learn as I have learned, not just to thank God for your successes; not just to thank God for your victories; not just to thank God for your popularity; not just to thank God because the church is full and your plates are running over. But, one of these days you're going to learn how to thank God the burdens you had to bare because they were teachable moments. Thank God for your trials because they were teachable moments. Thank God for your troubles because they were teachable moments. That God for the storms he's brought you through because they were teachable moments.

This Resurrection Sunday, please remember that after Peter wept in the darkness of his shame, the sun came up and Jesus appeared on the shore with a meal prepared. Jesus as He invited Peter to breakfast (see John 21:15-25), and then lovingly restored his faith, He can do the same for you.

Because of Chri st,

Pastor Ulysses Stephen King, Jr.

Morning Glory Worship Service | Speaker: Elder Calvin King, Sr.
Sunday, April 23 at 10:30AM

What do you know about the gentlemen who plays the guitar in the corner at church?  Let's tell you a little bit about Elder King!

Elder Calvin L. King, Sr., the third eldest of six siblings of the late Bishop Ulysses S. King Sr. and Mother Tryphosa King, started preaching in 1961.  While growing up in West Oakland, he graduated from McClymonds High School in 1962 at 16 years old where he became a track and field star competing in the 400 meter relays, the 100 yard dash and other events. He won metals in all of these events.

Elder King went to the Old Oakland City College (now Merritt) 1962-64, and he later attended Cal State Hayward 1964-66 until he was drafted into the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he served from 1967-69. He returned to receive his Bachelor of Science in Business Education from University of San Francisco in 1979.

Elder King shared, "LOL...probably one the oldest in Ministry in CHSC!"  Elder King is the most senior minister and elder of the Memorial Tabernacle Church. He has served the church locally and nationally as a youth minister and leader, evangelist, musician, Sunday school teacher, and other leadership roles.

Memorial Tabernacle is blessed to have Elder King still serving and ministering to the body of Christ, and Sunday.
