SPARK Hollywood

SPARK Hollywood is a pitch competition for early-stage entrepreneurs. This event promotes innovation and entrepreneurship for local startups, entrepreneurs, small businesses and inventors in South Florida.

Highlights include over $10,000 in cash and in kind prizes, special guest speaker former Florida State Senator Jeremy Ring, introductions to sponsors, networking, music and a cash bar.

Venture Company Highlights
PowerCalc Continues to Grow
PowerCalc, a Venture Class 3 company, has continued to develop new functionalities and gain new customers, since their cloud launch in December 2016.

Their first automatic graphic 1 Line Diagram will launch in the next four weeks. PowerCalc's 1 Line Diagram is tied to its more than 7 million calculations.
 
June Adams, CEO, and James Khalil, President, will speak at the Alabama-Mississippi Engineering Society's Conference in May on disruptive technology and their company.

PowerCalc is the first SaaS-based software that completely automates the electrical engineering calculations for the building, construction, and facility management industries in compliance with the National Electrical Code. Modulux Poised To Become Industry Leader
Modulux Lighting, Venture Class 1 alumni, has advanced its LED lighting platform to create a best in class product. The company has developed a versatile series of products that have strong potential in five emerging markets: cannabis cultivation, vertical/urban farming, controlled-environment agriculture, algae photo-bioreactors, and human centric lighting.

Most recently, Modulux added smartphone control which enables growers to customize lighting "on the fly." In addition, initial beta testing in Colorado has validated the effectiveness of their cannabis grow light. With further fine tuning and planned cost reductions, the company is poised to become a market leader.

Pinar Yildirim, M.B.A.
Financial Research Analyst, Head of Investor Relations 
FAU Tech Runway
Pinar Yildirim, M.B.A.  has joined FAU Tech Runway as its new Financial Research Analyst and Head of Investor Relations. Yildirim comes to FAU from the University of Cambridge Research Operations Office as a Research Support Advisor. Her experience includes M&A advisory and private banking. Yildirim earned her MBA degree in Finance from DePaul University, Kellstadt Graduate School of Business.
