AGC MA/ ACE Launches Building Future Leaders Program for the Blackstone Valley: An AGC MA Work Force Development Initiative

In partnership with The Blackstone Valley Educational Foundation and the ACE Mentorship Program, AGC MA has established a new pilot program "AGC MA/ ACE Building Future Leaders Program for the Blackstone Valley: An AGC MA Work Force Development Initiative".
 
The goal of the proposed program is to educate and inform teachers, guidance counselors, parents and the public of the exciting and lucrative work opportunities in the Architect, Engineer and Construction Industry (AEC) in the Commonwealth who will help to identify prospective high school students grades 9-12 in the Blackstone Valley Region who are most likely to find success in careers in the AEC industry.
 

AGC MA Presents $100,000 Check to Keene State College 

On November 17, 2017 AGC MA's Director of Safety and Keene Alumni, Chris Ziegler Presented a $100,000 check to Interim President Melinda Treadwell that will help support the efforts of developing a new Construction Safety Sciences program that will produce competent and capable graduates that are able to serve as the "next generation of safety leaders". 

Are Your Punch Lists Signed Off and O&Ms Submitted? NJ Court Rules not Delivering all Closeout Items Could be a Basis for Withholding Final Payment for Over Two Years

General Contractor Wallace Brothers, Inc. (Wallace) entered into a contract with the East Brunswick Board of Education (Board) for the construction of the New Memorial School in the amount of $18,233,000.  During the course of the project, the Board paid Wallace a total of $19,713,664.11 through the change process. Even though the school had been in use by the Board for two years, it was holding a contract balance of $366,130.26 that it refused to issue to Wallace.  The Board claimed that it had issued several punch lists for Wallace to complete but were still outstanding.

AGC MA Board of Directors recently announced 2 new board members representing the AGC's Construction Leadership Council (CLC) and Building Women in Construction Committee (BWiC).

Ashley Greenwood, P.M., Sea-Dar Construction and CLC Chair and Stacy Roman, Sr. P.M., Commodore Builders and BWiC Chair attended the December Board meeting and will formally take their seats in May at the AGC MA Annual Meeting.

Inc. , a comprehensive real estate development and project management services firm, announced it has hired (pictured left to right) Lisa Kozol of North Andover as director of development consulting; Caitlin Robillard of Brookline as project manager and Andrew Weesner of South Boston as senior project manager.

Winter 2018 Lean Construction Program Series Units 1-7
January 5th through March 9th|7:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. | AGC Conference Center

This is a certificate program that consists of seven units.  Following the completion of all seven units, individuals will have a deep knowledge of both the theory and application of Lean Construction and be able to sit for an exam to earn AGC's Certificate of Management - Lean Construction (CM-LC) credential. 

OSHA 10 hour Training
