Religious Education News
Unitarian Universalist Church of Canton

RE Mission
Our religious education program works
to create an accepting environment that empowers children and youth to explore their spirituality, celebrate diversity, and live our Unitarian Universalist values.
Family Ministry

We believe that families play a vital role in furthering this empowerment to explore and live our UU values. We are excited to support our families by offering ideas from the UUA's Tapestry of Faith program as well as graces and thought provoking questions related to the topics introduced during Sunday religious education classes. We hope you find this new initiative enjoyable and spiritually fulfilling for your whole family.
In RE Next Week
Our children and youth will learn about Zen gardens, explore our earth, perform music in worship, prepare for worship and more.

 Attending Installation for James
Our religious education program including nursery will be suspended on Sunday, April 30 so that everyone may attend the Installation Service for James.  A special space will be set up in the sanctuary with quiet activities during the service.
A Table Grace:
We are celebrating today, Lord, a mixture of bunnies, hidden colored eggs and angels rolling away stones.  Join us as we gather to share a meal and ponder both, enjoying the one and giving thanks for the other.  Bless those about this table savoring both the food and the message of this day.  Remind us too, Lord of unexpected appearances, that this also is the season of spring, a time when rebirth is not so surprising after all.  Send us after lunch into the yard, where while hiding colored Easter eggs for the children, we may suddenly understand what this day really means.
A Chalice Lighting:
For holy days on which we recall the old stories, we light the flame.
For Passover which reminds us of the courage and strength of those seeking freedom in the past, we light the flame.
For Easter which reminds us that love is our greatest challenge, we light the flame.
For gathering today in this special space, we light the flame.
For the opportunity to be together, to remember the past, to plan for our future, to be alive in our present.

Spring is springing!  With the coming of Passover and Easter, there are many reasons to celebrate spiritually.  Enjoy a few of these activities as we welcome the sun, the flower and the cleansing rain.

Family Discussion - During a meal together, discuss what changes are you seeing, hearing and smelling with the coming of spring.  Also discuss what changes are you seeing in yourself.
