Rev. Carlos M. Rosa-Laguer  to become
Niagara Frontier District Superintendent

Upper New York Area Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb is pleased to announce his intention to appoint the Rev. Carlos M. Rosa-Laguer as superintendent of the Niagara Frontier District, effective July 1, 2018.

Rev. Rosa-Laguer serves as pastor of the Emmanuel and Churchville congregations of Rochester, NY, and has also been very involved in Hispanic-Latina Planting in cooperation with the Upper New York Conference Office of New Faith Communities.

In November, Niagara Frontier District Superintendent (DS), the Rev. Wayne Butler announced that he will retire June 30, 2018. Upper New York Area Resident Bishop Mark J. Webb gives thanks for Rev. Butler's service and wishes him well in his retirement.

Elma UMC Youth Mission Trip Fundraiser

On November 10 - 11 the Elma United Methodist Church  Senior Youth had a Hamster Wheel-
A-Thon fundraiser.
9 youth and 4 adult leaders walked for 24 hours in frigid temperatures to achieve this goal. The fundraiser took place at Walmart in Lancaster. The Youth are raising money to go
back to the Adirondack Region of New York State to help impoverished families. The group was so greatly impacted by this Mission Trip last summer that they want to return again this coming summer 2018. If you feel the Spirit moving in you to make a donation, you can send a check to the Elma United Methodist Church at 2991 Bowen Road, Elma NY 14059 and please write Mission Trip in the memo area.

If your group would like to rent the Wheel for a $100, it will include paperwork and all you need to know to have a successful fundraiser. Please call Deb Coatsworth at 716-652-5427 ext. 202 if interested. Your rental fee will also support our Mission Trip.

Our District Superintendent even tried out the wheel when he was at Elma for a district function!
