Our Mission:
We exist to magnify God and spread a passion for His glory by making disciples and shepherding them to value Jesus Christ above everything else.
Celebrating Christmas Together
by Pastor Patrick Carmichael
So, I've been sitting at a Starbucks now for about 3 hours and will be here for at least another 4 working on church matters, school matters, and last minute Christmas things. I've been putting the finishing touches on our Christmas Eve Service this Sunday and I can't tell you how excited I am for our time, celebrating our Savior together! It is going to be such a joyous occasion together! We have so many great things planned! We're going to be singing amazing songs about the glory of our Savior's birth, we'll enjoy a string section for the first time at CBC, we'll also have a little kids choir for the first time as well, and we'll have a little something for each of you to take home and enjoy after a time of sharing the glory of the Gospel in the Christmas story in a really fun and memorable way. It is going to be such a great time!

So, who are you inviting to come? One of the reasons I love setting up shop in a Starbucks is that there is always a barrage of people who come through. Of course I love the endless cups of coffee, and the occasional pastry that someone ordered but didn't pick up and the staff is kind enough to give it to me because I guess I have a nomadic, needy vibe about me. But I love the lines of people that walk past me or sit next to me. As of right now, I have invited 23 people to our service  on Sunday and have shared the Gospel with 6 people. I've met some people who already have a home church and am always excited to meet a fellow member of the family of God, a brother or sister in Christ, someone on the same team. What a joy!

But that usually isn't the case. Therefore, I end up just viewing the line of people as an endless list of souls who do not know Jesus, cherishing Him as Lord and Savior. My heart aches for them and I wish time would stand still for all of us so that we could dive into the Gospel and call everyone to throw themselves at the mercy of Jesus! But since that hasn't happened yet, I just pray and use every open door I can to invite, to share, and to love with the love of Christ. Please pray for Paul, David, and Jennifer, who clearly heard the Gospel and seemed somewhat receptive!

Who knows what God will do with the seed that is scattered? That isn't my job to worry about; my job is very simple: faithfully, boldly, and compassionately speak of Jesus and tell others about His glory, His majesty, and His love! So, join me this week in sharing and inviting. Call up your believing family and friends and invite them to come and celebrate the birth of our Savior with us! And may this be an opportunity to invite anyone who does not know Jesus to come and to hear the Gospel, the true meaning of Christmas!

Can't wait to celebrate with you all this Sunday! Right now, I have to go because another huge line of people who need to know Jesus is forming here at Starbucks so I have some conversations to get to and invites that I need to give out!
