Meet the Member
Ericka Curlee, Louisa's Electronics

E ricka opened Louisa's Electronics with Don Bendell in 1999 as a video store selling DVD players and later, added surround sound and Satellite systems.
A demand for  installation of home
entertainment wiring brought yet another layer to their business which has now evolved into a premier smart home automation sales, installation, and service center.

You would never think about building a house without a plumber or electrician and with today's technology, it is important to think about the same path for technology. A Technology Integrator will ensure that all of your audio, video, computer systems, and/or automation services are designed and installed to maximize productivity. Louisa's specializes in this field and they are ready to consult on residential or commercial jobs.

Louisa's Electronics has been an active member of the HBASC since 2011, presenting their technology during numerous Parade of Homes. Last year Ericka entered the Parade with their newly constructed showroom which is topped with 2 executive suite vacation rentals. The suites are fully automated and double as a fully functional, state of the art, home automation showroom. During a tour of these all-inclusive rentals, I got to see how convenient these systems are. We discussed some of the benefits that come with automation such as security and systems visibility for the homeowner. By managing resources, energy efficiency is enhanced.
Homes can now be monitored to prevent numerous catastrophes. Sensors can be put in place to shut down water mains which is especially advantageous for second homeowners or those who are out of the house for any amount of time. Water alerts have prevented flooding for several of Ericka's clients.

The importance of family and community can be noted by Ericka's commitment to service. In addition to running her business, Ericka sits on the Durango Business Improvement District (BID) Board and also serves on the district advisory accountability committee (DAAC) for the 9R school District.

We are planning next year's Member Mixer at Louisa's Electronics and hope to see you there.
