Eric Thomas, Senior Partner and Brand Specialist at Saga MKTG shared this perspective: "This is what happens when you don't have enough people in leadership that reflect the cultures that you represent." Critics say the controversial ad illustrates the lack of diversity in the advertising industry. Advocates for inclusion agree that greater authenticity is achieved when a gender, ethnically and culturally diverse workforce drives the creative process. Rest In Power: The Trayvon Martin Story has landed at Paramount Network, which is rebranding from Spike TV in January 2018. The six-part series about the African-American teen shot by George Zimmerman in 2012 is the first new non-scripted project since the Viacom-owned network announced its plans to rebrand.
Multichannel News
Azteca America, the broadcast network and Spanish-language programmer, dug into the headlines for its first U.S.-based original series. It's called El Muro, or The Wall. Set along the Arizona-Mexico border, the drama will break up into 10 blocks of five episodes around a central narrative -- "a love story between Adriana, an undocumented immigrant, and Calixto, the immigration officer in charge of her deportation."

NAMIC-Philadelphia hosted their membership meeting on March 23, 2017. President Mia Beasley-Bonds, Senior Manager, Comcast, spoke of her NAMIC experience which started with a friend encouraging her to join to now running the entire chapter. Attendees were encouraged to get involved as they networked and heard from the board about upcoming plans for the year. Prizes were raffled off for attending and completing the membership survey.

NAMIC-New York member and ELDP Class XIII alumnus, Malek Robert ("Bobby") Amirshahihas been named Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications, Univision Communications Inc.
