Sunday April 30th: 2nd Parent Support Group Meeting
Info:
The Friendship Foundation is excited to host its second support group meeting on  Sunday, April 30th.  The intention of this support group is to provide access to resources, create a friendly, accepting and safe place to share experiences and create dialogue, and an opportunity to meet other families within the Friendship Foundation.

To ensure the success of the group, we will have Carol Dafesh, a licensed Marriage Family Therapist, facilitate the discussion.  She has 10 years of experience working with families and individuals including working with parents and their toddlers to facilitate attachment and screen for developmental delays at Cedars-Sinai Early Childhood Center.  She has co-lead a "Working Woman's Group" to assist successful women in navigating the stresses of balancing career, family and relationships.  She is a certified Grief Specialist and has a specialty in Chronic Pain.

She looks forward to facilitating discussions and collaborating with our Friendship Foundation families.

We hope to see you there!

The Achievable Foundation
5901 Green Valley Circle
Mike Danneker Board Room (3rd Floor)
Culver City, California 90230

The Achievable Foundation will be holding its Spring Speakers Program. This event will be an opportunity for patients, families, local elected officials and their staff, as well as advocates, and others to come together and learn more about topics crucial to our population.

This year we will be focusing on employment and access to health care for individuals with intellectual and devlopmental disabilities. Our speakers will be discussing innovative programs to provide real world job experience to individuals with autism, as well as access to Medi-Cal for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This latter topic has become especially salient given developments in health care at the federal level.

The event will feature:

Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley Thomas (D-Los Angeles)
Representing California's 54th Assembly District

Rick Rollens  - Featured Speaker
Former Secretary of the California Senate, and Advocate for ARCA & Autism Speaks
Dr. Pam Wiley  - Featured Speaker
