Park Press began in the 1950's
in a garage in the small farming community of South Holland near Chicago, IL. In the early 60's they began publishing a series of local Shopper newspapers which required the addition of high-speed web offset newspaper presses. At that time these presses were revolutionary vehicles in the proliferation of community newspapers all over the country. The Park Press focus was on providing local publishers of newspapers, catalogs, books & Bibles tremendous cost savings with our high speed printing and binding lines.

Many studies have demonstrated that helping others kindles happiness When researchers at the London School of Economics examined the relationship between volunteering and measures of happiness in a large group of American adults, they found the more people volunteered, the happier they were.

| Commenting on commas, commas and more commas |
Does the title of this section seem to be missing something? Would you prefer to see a comma just before the word "and"? Many of us grew up being taught that a list such as the one above should have commas not only separating the items, but also before the conjunction. HOWEVER, there are RULES about these things that are not necessarily the same as what you may have been taught in grammar school. And like most good rules, there are also exceptions to the rule.
In our Worth Reading section is a link to an article from the Boston Globe, on how one little comma, which wasn't there, and technically wasn't needed (according to guidelines in the Maine Legislative Drafting Manual, which specifically instructs lawmakers to not use the Oxford comma) is costing a company millions of dollars.
The article expands beyond the court case itself to explain the rules, the exceptions, and why the reasoning for creating a printed document may make the difference in how you choose to use commas. This is a good read you really don't want to miss!
