Byers Choice Carolers
We have new Carolers coming in this month! There are so many new Byers Choice Carolers this year, that we wanted to take a moment here and highlight a few of our favorites! Last year, Byers Choice came out with their first bald Santa and we are excited to announce that this year they have created a Bald Santa with Packages. This bald Santa features Santa in a red coat, red pants, and black boots getting ready to deliver a stack of presents to all the good little girls and boys.
Another new Santa is the Black and Gold Santa. This Santa looks distinguished in his black coat trimmed in gold and is carrying a lovely wreath. To accompany him is Black and Gold Mrs. Claus. Mrs. Claus is wearing a black and white checked skirt, with a black top that is accented with gold.

For all our cooking friends, there is the Chef with Chili Pot. This chef is wearing a red shirt, black and white pants, and a black apron. He is getting ready to make his famous chili with extra hot sauce.

There is also Clara from the Nutcracker Ballet. Clara is featured in a pink and white dress holding her Nutcracker solider.   To accompany Clara, you can also get the The Mouse King and The Nutcracker carolers.  Like we said, there a lot of new wonderful carolers and we have just shared a few of them with you here. Stop by the store or visit our website to see all the new Carolers for 2017!

Old World Christmas Ornaments
We have received our shipment of Old World Christmas ornaments. These beautiful glass ornaments are popular with people looking to remember an event (e.g. graduation or anniversary), find their favorite animal (e.g. turtle or bear), or just something unique (e.g. peanut butter jelly sandwich, coffee pot). There is something for everyone.  Every year we are amazed at what new and fun ornaments Old World will create. This year we are excited for a new Chicago ornament, knitting yarn, and a beautiful Clydesdale horse.
A New Look For an Old Favorite
Fontanini nativities have been a staple at the store for years. This last month we have worked on updating our Fontanini Nativity display and we think it is has given the section a new fresh look.  Fontanini nativities have been one of our favorites because they allow customers a chance to customize their own nativity scene.  You can select the traditional holy family and wise men or you can add on to create a whole village scene.  Look for the new Fontanini pieces to arrive in the store in June.
Original Snow Village new for 2017

Complete your Christmas Vacation scene with the Griswold Holiday Garage, the companion to the Griswold Holiday House. A string of lights are set in front, waiting to be untangled and yard dĂ©cor is unpacked, with the promise of a fun family Christmas. To accompany this is Clark and Rusty Continue the Tradition, which features Clark and Rusty getting the Christmas lights out of boxes.

Fans of The Nutcracker are thrilled about this home on Christmas Lane. The Nutcracker House is complete with the animated, spinning ballerina on the roof peak, shiny ornaments and garlands add to the fanciful dĂ©cor. Four sentinels, including Uncle Drosselmeyer and the Mouse King welcome visitors.  Special lit effects illuminate each of the features of this beautiful family home. Undoubtedly, the Nutcracker is the most popular and famous ballet. With uncountable productions performed each year, it is a true Christmas tradition in North America. To complete your Nutcracker House consider getting the Nutcracker Sweet.  Nutcracker Sweet is a young girl in her pink snowsuit and tutu dances with her Nutcracker toy.  This makes a great gift for performers of the play.
If a new bike is on your wish list for the holidays, be sure to tell Santa to stop by The Bike Pedaler on Main Street.  Featuring the finest selection of styles - from vintage beach bikes to models with the latest technology - it's difficult to choose a favorite.  Parts, repairs, and accessories complete the complement of services.  A handy air pump on the side is available for use day or night.  To finish off this scene get the Bike Season Every Season, featuring the dedicated biker dressed in cold weather riding clothes with saddle bags filled with presents
Woodsy Retreat offers the perfect Christmas experience. Whether your year-round home is tucked in the woods, or the cabin is your holiday escape, this charming log home will fill your days with fun and your nights with cozy warmth. With the canoe and oars stored for the winter, the chopping block makes adding another log to the fire a cinch.  At night, the kids restlessly wait for Santa while trying to sleep in the loft. To finish off this wintery scene consider getting one (or all) of the three coordinating accessories.  Northwoods Proposal  features a gentleman removing his hands from his girlfriend's eyes to show her a surprise waiting in the tree.  In the tree he has written "Will You Marry  Me?".  Who wouldn't be delighted with this surprise!  Inner Tube Sled Dog Race shows a German shepherd pulling a child and 2 puppies on an inner tube. Casting For The Opener has a Dad helping his little girl practicing her casting, trying to get the lure into the bucket.
There are some other fun new accessories that can be added to any of your favorite pieces.  This year's Santa Comes To Town, 2017 (dated and lit), Santa finds a moose cow bedded down with her young calf, resting on a peaceful night.  Sasquatch Foot Print? shows two youngsters looking in amazement at the size of the footprint in the snow.  What's more fun than making snow angels?  Snow Much Fun shows two friends making snow angels.
During the busy holiday season, anyone who enjoys fishing will look forward to escaping to the frozen lakes in Door County to spend some time in this deluxe fish house.  Home Away from Home Fish Shack has everything a dedicated fisherman needs: plenty of firewood stacked for warmth, a grill to prepare fresh caught fish, a cooler to keep beverages from freezing, shovel, ax, and auger for cutting ice, and attached dog house for the fisherman's best friend.   To coordinate with this fish shack is The One That Got Away.  This fisherman has had a little too much excitement and catching a quick nap next to his fishing line.
In Snow Village, Christmas Eve is especially beautiful at Golden Cross Church.  The broad front doors welcome parishioners and visitors alike for the midnight candlelit service.  The snow outside reflects a kaleidoscope of color cast from the stained glass windows that adorn Golden Cross.  Hearts and voices join together on this peaceful night.  Box set of 4 includes lit ceramic house, an accessory piece (three choir singers), sisal tree, and bag of snow.
Welcome to the 56 Street Brewery, home of the finest craft brews and micro beers in town.  Come inside to enjoy your favorite draft with a bite to eat or sample a flight on the upper deck.  Visitors can see the copper kettles through the overhead door to the right, while the tower tank and stored kegs complete the authentic look.  Lager, IPA, Pilsner, or Ale - the craft brewing revolution has arrived to Snow Village.  This box set of 4 includes lit ceramic house, an accessory piece (a couple being served drinks), sisal tree and bag of snow.
During December, reservations are necessary for a special holiday dinner at the Bon Appetit Bistro. This charming French cafe in Chow Town features large double doors emit light from the dining room onto the patio, enticing passersby to dine.  Peek inside and find tables set with silver and crystal, dressed in white linen.  The chalkboard menu gives only a hint of the wonderful recipes being prepared.  Adorned with a bud vase, one lucky couple will share the sidewalk table this evening.  To complete this French scene get Musique De CafĂ©, which features a charming duo serenading the diners.

Tannenbaum Holiday Shop Reading Corner....

We are always excited to promote a Door County themed book (let's face it we are excited to promote anything Door County). This month's book is Door County's Eagle Bluff Lighthouse Mouse by Sue Steckart Jarosh. The Lighthouse Mouse is about Walter Duclon, who lived at the lighthouse with his family and pet mouse, Max. One day, Walter finds himself home alone and relies on Max to help him light the lantern at the top of the lighthouse. Filled with pictures of the interior of the Eagle Bluff Lighthouse, this book is a great addition to any children's library. We are honored that Sue Steckart Jarosh will be in our store for a book signing in June. Stayed tune for more information on the book signing!

The winner of this month's $50 gift certificate is.....Denise Irwin. Congratulations!

April is always a fun month for us at the Tannenbaum Holiday Shop!  The snow is melting, trees are starting to bloom, and new merchandise is showing up every day.  We will continue to be closed on Tuesday and Wednesdays thru the month of April, but our website is always open.  Thank you for taking the time to read through our newsletter and we look forward to seeing you on your next visit.
