Business Networking Christmas Mixer
Cheers to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the Ladysmith Chamber of Commerce and Ladysmith Downtown Business Association Christmas Mixer that was held Dec 5th. Cottonwood provided a stunning and festive venue, delicious meal and outstanding service! The Ladysmith Secondary School Band played and entertained beautifully.
Thank you to Leona Petrak and the Ladysmith Waterfront Art Gallery for the donation of the prints that raised $440 for the Kinsmens Public washroom project!
Thanks to the Chronicle, Waypoint Insurance, Bayview Framing and Art, Cottonwood Golf Course and Ladysmith Festival of Lights for the generous door prize donations.
Nominations are open for the 2018 Black Tie Awards
Nominations for the Black Tie Awards are now open and remain open until January 31, 2018. The Duncan Cowichan Chamber holds the Black Tie Awards to celebrate excellence and raise the profile of the business community and non-profit sector in Cowichan. The Awards Gala on April 7, 2018 is also a fundraiser with a silent auction and draws.
The Black Tie Awards are a community-wide event and everyone is invited to nominate. There are eight award categories recognizing excellence in customer service, volunteerism, art, business, environmental practices and there is a young entrepreneur category.
All businesses or organizations in the Cowichan Valley Regional District that meet the criteria can be nominated. Both non-members and members are eligible.

LATE NIGHT SHOPPING - DEC 15 & 22
We kick off late night shopping with the Old Time Christmas event on Friday, Dec 8th, and encourage retail businesses to stay open late the next two Fridays as well - December 15th and 22nd. If we build this up year after year, we will all be more successful at keeping people in town to shop.

The Ladysmith Chamber / Visitor Centre is happy to provide the drop-off space for the Shoebox Project. Located at 33 Roberts Street, hours from 9:30 am to 4pm.
