Run the Ridge is Only a Month Away!

Join us on Saturday, May 6th when this 6th Annual Pioneer Ridge Family Event will be held to raise money to improve learning spaces and technology at PRMS, as well as to promote community and health awareness.

Registration is now open for the 1k, 5k and 10k. Registration check-in begins at 7am at Pioneer Ridge Middle School. Registrations placed before April 14th are discounted and guaranteed to receive a free event t-shirt! Register today at: https://www.zapevent.com/reg/event/12787

We are Short on Supplies!
We have had a long flu and cold season this year and are in desperate need of more boxes of  Kleenex.  If you are able, please send any number of boxes with your child to the PRMS office.

Our supply of sharpened pencils is also very low.  With testing season upon us, it would be great if you could check with your child to see that they have a sufficient number of pencils to make it through testing and to the end of the year.  If you are also able to donate some sharpened #2 pencils, please have your child bring them to the office.  We very much appreciate your generosity!

Survey
Parent Survey
Every year, all schools in the district give parents the opportunity to provide feedback. The information you provide is valuable to our planning for the future school year. Our goal is to involve Pioneer Ridge staff, parents and students in the decision-making process as it pertains to them. Please take the time to tell us about your experience this year by filling out this Parent Survey.

WEB
Leadership Opportunity for Next Year's 8th Grade Students
WEB is a program at our school that stands for "Where Everybody Belongs."  WEB Leaders are 8th graders who are good role models for younger students at Pioneer Ridge Middle School.  They are trained (August 23-24th, 8:00am-1:00pm) to work with incoming sixth graders and run sixth grade orientation on the first day of school.  They also provide support throughout the school year.  Applications for WEB were handed out the week prior to spring break to 7th grade advisories and are due Tuesday, April 11th.  We are excited about this program and kids stepping up to be leaders in our school!

Profile
5th Grade Parents Must Submit Learner Profile
If you have not already done so, please click HERE to fill out the Learner Profile for your child as soon as possible.

This profile is important in helping us make the best learning structure recommendation for your child as they begin their middle school career at Pioneer Ridge Middle School.

Please contact Mary Perrine at [email protected] with any questions.

PTO
Can You Help? PRMS PTO Needs You!
We would love to have you join PRMS PTO! We have several active 8th grade moms who will be "graduating" out of PRMS in the spring of 2018. We are in need of a few leaders to learn the ropes and help grow the PTO.  We assist the school with parent communication, organize a small fundraiser and meet 5 times a year.  We would love to have YOU! Please e-mail us at [email protected] with any questions you may have!

Thank you and welcome to PRMS to all our 5th grade parents!

Students Tour Hennepin Technical College

On March 7th, twenty-five of our 8th grade students traveled to Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie. Students toured the campus and observed many different college courses that were in session. Students learned about the degree and certificate options available to them through Hennepin Technical College, as well as how its overall cost compared to other post-secondary options.
