" Christ's Humility"

We celebrate an interesting day on this upcoming Lord's Day: Palm  Sunday.
While we sing a hymn, the children will walk through the sanctuary waving palm branches.  We will imagine Jesus riding on a donkey as the people shout, "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord." As the  celebrate Jesus, He receives the accolades as the King who has come to save them.  Thus, we begin Holy Week.  Each of the four gospels mark this moment, where Jesus comes into Jerusalem, the place where He will die.
Our text this week comes from Philippians 2, an important piece of Paul's writing regarding the Savior.  This week we will be partaking of the Lord's Supper to ready our hearts for the most important week of the year as Christians.  As Jesus has journeyed to the cross, so we have journeyed through Lent.  How we do mark this day? With words of affirmation about who Jesus is. Why did the people bow down to Him? Why do we today? Come and let's talk about it as we gather at the table of the Lord.

Housing Needed for Missionary Families on Home Leave

In this New Year 2017, we have temporary housing needs for missionary families returning to Santa Barbara for rest/work in the United States. This rest/work is essential to maintain whole family health checkups and care as well as sustain their support while overseas on the mission fields.

If you have  a 1-2 bedroom home or apartment with availability for eight weeks or more during the months of September through December,  or are planning an extended vacation during this time, we would like to hear from you. We anticipate two families with this need. The Shattenberg family from Madagascar will be here in September. The Leon family from Costa Rica may be coming closer to December.

Thank you for considering this need. Each of these families has budgeted for rent, but as you know, short term rentals in Santa Barbara are nearly impossible.
