FAMILY PROMISE

Our Lady of Perpetual Help has been an overnight "homeless shelter" for nearly 15 years. Historically OLPH hosts homeless families from the Family Promise program during Christmas and Summer vacations, when our school-based facilities are not in operation.

It seems that this vacation-based timing of our host weeks has made the outreach ministry a little less visible to many of you who could be instrumental in keeping this program thriving.

Approximately 30 OLPH parish and school families helped host this past Christmas break by providing meals and food, activities, onsite overnight hosting, shopping, dormitory setup and break down, laundry and cleaning assistance, and most importantly fellowship with our guests.

This year, we strategically moved our host dates earlier in the summer, before parishioners and school families leave for cooler July temperatures. Our upcoming host weeks are June 18-July 2.

We need your help to show these struggling families the love of Christ through our simple actions of hospitality. From preschoolers setting silverware on tables and teenagers facilitating games and crafts, to retirees who can do laundry or take an overnight hosting shift -- there are jobs for all ages!

Please, email Jodi Chermack, Annie Hoyle, or Jody Steele for additional information, or to volunteer to help.
