Howell Announced as New Principal at Collins Intermediate School
|
The Corsicana ISD Board approved Stephanie Howell as the new principal of Collins Intermediate School. Howell has spent the last 11 years at CISD, most recently she was principal at Carroll Elementary School.

This summer, Drane Intermediate will transform into the Drane Learning Center for Early Childhood programs and the district's elementary Gifted and Talented program. This blended early education setting will serve several programs that are currently offered at various locations across the district.

Corsicana ISD 3rd and 4th grade students and teachers recently participated in a state-wide initiative called Texas Reads One Book. This initiative encourage students to read and share their reading experiences
at home with their families. All 3rd and 4th grade students received their very own copy of the book, Lemonade Wars by Jacqueline Davies, and read the first chapter with Dallas Cowboys coach, Jason Garrett.

Russell Helms WON 1st in class and Juan Lopez WON 2nd in class with their trailers at the State Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Agricultural Mechanics Project Contest.
Larry Acock and the Collins Middle School Agricultural Show Team WON 1st in class and RESERVE GRAND CHAMPION SHOWMANSHIP over the entire show! First Track Meet at Tiger Stadium

A Corsicana High School class of students, inspired by the Take Care of Corsicana (TCC) motto, decided to create care packages for the Corsicana Police Department. The students, led by teacher Misty Fletes, organized lists of items that police officers would use at work. Items such as candy, hand sanitizers, lunch certificates, snacks, etc were collected by students and organized in gift bags. Click here to read the full news release.

The Corsicana ISD Communications Department and Corsicana Education Foundation received several Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA) awards at their annual conference in February. CISD received 3 gold stars in sports photography, and 1 gold and 2 silvers in other photography.
One baseball photo went on to win Best of Category. CEF received gold stars for their 2016 Distinguished Scholars Banquet, C&B Seen Brazilian Carnival invitation, and C&B Seen Brazilian Carnival G
ala. The gala went on to win Best of Category for Events and a Crystal Award for Events. Pictured is TSPRA President Melissa Tortorici and CEF Executive Director Kristin Zastoupil accepting the crystal award on CEF's behalf. Kristin will also serve as the TSPRA President-Elect for 2017.
