Students and staff returned from spring break full of energy and excitement. The final trimester proceeds very quickly because of the numerous end-of-the-year activities here at school along with the myriad of activities available to children this time of year outside of the school day.

The 1st and 2nd grade Spelling Bees will be held on Thursday, May 11. The 3rd and 4th grade Spelling Bees will be held on Friday, May 12. Families will receive details about exact times and locations.
Author Kevin Sherry to Visit on April 24th
Pleasantdale Elementary would like to welcome author Kevin Sherry on April 24th at 9:30 am. The author will be presenting to the students in grades 2, 3, and 4. Kevin Sherry is the author of several books including Yeti Files, I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean, and his newest book Remy Sneakers vs. the Robo-Rats. Welcome back from Spring Break! The month of April may bring rain showers (as we have certainly seen this week!), but it also ushers us into the home stretch of the school year.
The Pleasantdale District 107 Board of Education announces that it is accepting applications for candidates to fill a School Board vacancy. The term will run from April 2017 till April 2019. Residents of District 107, 18 years of age or older, who are interested in the appointment should submit a letter of intent, resume and the candidate form which is available on the district website

Last Chance to Register for Summer Academy 2017!
This summer District 107 is excited to offer students currently in grades PreK - 7 the opportunity to take summer enrichment classes to further their learning in new and exciting ways! Summer Academy classes will be held Monday - Friday from June 12 - July 7 (no class July 3 or 4 in observance of Independence Day) with classes offered from 8:30 - 11:45 AM.
Registration for enrichment classes has been extended through April 7th!
