Monthly News & Updates - April 2017

Happy Pesach

With Pesach fast approaching, it is almost hard to believe that we have already celebrated the first three months of our 70th Anniversary Year.

It has been an exceptionally busy start to the year.  We kicked off with a private screening of Lego Batman in January, our annual school and cheder fundraiser - Blue-ish Jewish in February, our inaugural 3 day Mission to Israel in March and only last week we enjoyed an Evening with June Kenton.

I am absolutely thrilled that so many of you have already attended our events and hope that as the year continues to unravel, that I will meet more of you, our wonderful donors so that together we can celebrate the outstanding work that Jewish Child's Day does, in transforming the lives of thousands of Jewish Children.

I wish you and your families a Chag Kasher V'Sameach Pesach.

Mission to Israel
12-16th March 2017

A group of 15 donors participated in the charity's inaugural Mission to Israel.  An eye- opening trip that showed the participants first hand the breadth and scope of the projects that Jewish Child's Day support whilst also enjoying some good Israeli food and culture.

On Day 1, the group was addressed by Dalia Rabin herself who shared with us her father's vision  and  her rationale for standing down as a member of the Knesset Labour Party in 2003.

On Day 2, a visit to the Knesset, followed by a private address by Minister Haim Katz, the Minister of Welfare proved extremely thought provoking.

On Day 3 the group visited the beautiful Bahia Gardens and the German colony , where they enjoyed the most wonderful views of Haifa.

Blue-ish Jewish
24-26th February 2017

In late February, a sea of blue swept across the UK as hundreds of primary school and cheder children participated In our annual Blue-ish Jewish event.

This is our annual event that takes the charity back to its' roots - children helping children.

The funds raised through Blue-ish Jewish far exceeded last year and will be used to support two very special projects that we are supporting in honour of our 70th anniversary year.

An Evening with June Kenton
28th March 2017

Over 50 ladies (and one gentleman!) piled into the Radlett Centre to enjoy an Evening with June Kenton.

The audience were nothing less than hysterical as June recounted some of her infamous tales about her 60 years in the lingerie business.  June Kenton is the woman who transformed London's Rigby and Peller into one of the leading lingerie retailers in the world, but more than that she is an amazing business woman.

The timing of the event was fantastic as June has very recently launched her autobiography "Storm in a D Cup" which she, since 1982, professional bra fitter June Kenton has built her career around matching all types of women- including the Queen!  June has many funny stories to share with us including, snippets from her new book "Storm in a  D Cup".

To find out more about sponsoring a day or a month please email: [email protected]
