WILL WE HAVE SNOW THIS WINTER?
Following last winters 6 snow events, everyone is curious about this coming winter. Like all forecasts, meteorologists don't all agree but most say it will be colder that normal with at least some sort of snowy or icy conditions. Remember, an average or "normal" year gets some snow or ice.  According to the National Weather Service , "Winter precipitation in Portland falls mostly as rain, but there is an average of four days with measurable snow."  The end of November was mild and wet and early December is forecast to be cool and dry.  However, our snow threat is more likely mid-December through the end of January.

At the Oregon Meteorologists Conference most presenters predicted some snow.

We monitor the forecast closely as it impacts our normal operation as well as our Snow and Ice Services Hopefully, last years snowy winter will not be repeated soon but we stand ready.
