April Notes of Interest
Maternity Leaves
Starting Monday Ms. Tia will be back with her new baby girl Veda! Marissa's and Tia's time flew by but we are so excited to have them both back as administrators and new families here at KKLC! Feel free to stop and welcome Tia back as well as the Griffin family!

Chick-It-Out
We pick up our chicks the begining of April and excited to watch them hatch over the month of April! Make sure to look at our incubator everyday to see the progress of the eggs and watch them turn into baby chicks before we know it!

Parking
Even with Spring time upon us, please keep in mind of parking in a appropriate spot.  For proper flow of the parking lot, it is important that you park only in the designated areas. You may park in the spots in the front lot, back lot, or along the curb in front of the flag. You may not park along the opposite curb from the flag pole. This helps with school bus's to be able to get in, families and staff to pull out to leave, and safety of children in the parking lot. Thank you for your understanding!

Developing Melodies® Music Corner

Music is such an important aspect here at Katie's Kids!
We believe music is an essential part of play and helps with growth and development of a child. Music is not only enjoyable for a child but it's a core function for brain development. The first 12 months of a child is critical for brain development and having music therapy can help with the response and process of brain growth. Music also taps into emotions, improves our attention skills, and enhances learning. We are a proud supporter of music therapy and enjoy watching what music does for our kiddos emotionally, physically, and cognitively!  We love having Ms. Janel here at Katie's Kids to encourage play and growth through music and rhythm!

Loose Parts Donations -

Our Focus this Month:

Keep track of all of those extra parts. We can use them here!
        • Paper Towel rolls
        • Buttons
        • Shoe Laces

We, at Katie's Kids, would like to keep utilizing loose parts in our classrooms throughout the year.  Therefore, we are inviting parents and families that are interested to keep the supplies coming!  If you choose to donate you can drop the materials off at the front desk at any time!

Be sure to look through our center for how the loose parts are being used within the curriculum!

Thank you in advance for your donations, we look forward to seeing the creativity that stems from all of the materials!

Reggio Reads...
--------------------------------------------

"Making the leap from drawing in the sand or air to putting pencil to paper can be made easier by harnessing a child's natural curiosity to explore - to touch and feel, to see. Using these senses can help take the abstract and make it concrete."
